Pilot batteries dead after 2 weeks

Well, I am not so happy with my pilot. When I first got it, it didnt produce vapor or throat hit, so Casey sent me a replacement atomizer. Soon after the battery quit all together so I charged up the spare battery for 12 hours and it worked on and off for 2 weeks, now the whole ecig is worthless with both batteries bad. I bought a usb passthrough so I could still get my nicotine fix while Im at the computer, and it works great.
But I cant even buy new batteries because noone has them in stock.

Don't Feel Bad, Your Not The Only.. My Pilot Batteries Lasted About 2 Weeks Of Very Light Use. I Purchased The 1st Batch From PS Months Ago.

The Pilot Batteries Are Crap! No Use In Contacting PS (Thats Were I Purchased Mine).

I Emailed PS Several Times. I Guess If The Date of Your Email Is 14 Days After Your Purchase, PS Won't Even Reply Back. Not Until 3 or 4 Emails Later They Finally Did Reply. They Even Stated Its After 14 Days After You Purchase is Out Of Warranty, 14 Days or After Its A "See YA!". So My Understanding They Go Look Up Your Order History 1st Then Decide If They Wanna Contact U.

Keep Vapin!

It's not just the Pilot batteries. I started with an Evo and had about the same luck you did. The batteries and/or vacuum switch etc. are really unreliable. I had enough and sent my stuff back and went with a different model. I'm going to use my atomizers that I have left with a usb passthru.

By the way Puresmoker is my fav for e-liquid so far. Thanks!

Cellmeister,

I apologize for the issues you seem to have with our company, but we have our 14 day warranty policy so that we can follow it. Many companies have warranty periods and all of them will tell you that once you are out of warranty, they have no obligation to replace any broken pieces. I'm sorry we couldn't help you sooner, but we were absolutely swamped with emails and trying to catch up, which may be why our response time was lagging. I assure you that we do not just pick and choose who we respond to based on order history.

Was in the hospital for two days with what I thought was nicotine poisoning. Ive only been vaping the 6mg or 12mg juice but started to get extremely dizzy and sick.
The doctor told me it was not nicotine poisoning but sysemic absorbtion from lithium batteries.
The battery was cracked on the inside and allowed the lithium from the battery to vape with the e-liquid.

THIS IS WHY THE FDA IS BANNING THESE DEVICES, I TOLD PS THE BATTERIES WERE BAD AND THEY SAID TOO BAD, YOUVE HAD IT 16 DAYS, AND THATS ALL THE WARRANTY COVERS.
Not to mention I sent many emails complaining it wasnt working properly, before the warranty was up. I was told I was using it wrong and it was my fault because I had already had the atomizer replaced, it couldnt have 2 defects.

Vapor4life has much better quality on the vapor king and the customer service is awesome. I'll be doing business with them from now on.

The main symptom of ingestion of a leaking battery is 'burning', and yet you don't mention that at all.

Your story becomes more credible to us if you're helpful, not snippy.

She was snippy first.

For three weeks I have been severely dizzy, nausious, with heartburn so bad I thought it was a heart attack.
My doctor told me it was lithium ingestion, and Ill beleive him over someone who doesnt know whats going on.
He also suggested I get an attourney, and quote "These things are illegal to sell in the U.S." If theyre illegal there must be a reason, and now I see why.
The chinese have been trying to kill us for years, with lead and crap in our pet food, kids toys, now this.

Lets Clear Some Air Shall We?

I'm not doubting the fact that what you may be saying is true azvampyre, and I certainly appreciate you bringing this to our attention, but you are completely exaggerating the exchange (conversation) over the past few days with Casey. YOU were the first to acknowledge the fact that you were out of warranty, not us, and we simply agreed with you.

Here is the email explaining the battery situation and your knowledge of warranty expiration:

The batteries are only powering up for a second then shutting down and
Im getting no vapor or throat hit.
Sometimes one of the batteries works a little but the other one never
worked.
I got a usb passthrough and it works fine, better than its ever worked
before. I can take nice long drags and get a punch in the throat and
alot of vapor.
But I cant use it away from the computer. Unfortunately for me the
warranty expired, so I'll have to buy new batteries already.
If theres
ever any for sale.

Thank you for trying so hard to please me

Bill

Mind you, MANY emails went back and forth. You seemed to have trouble at first, then we got an email like so:

Hi Casey,

Thanks for the help. I was just puffing too hard, The nice slow drag
works much better after breaking in the atomizer.
Thanks again

Bill

So, it goes from not working (we replace the atomizer) to working, then not working. Normally, it comes down to trial and error. I'm not entirely sure how the 401 passthrough works, whether it has a cutoff built in or not, or what type of switch it has for that matter. Batteries and passthroughs do not always function the same, and comparing a 901 to a 401 is like night and day! 2 completely different beasts to tame and batteries to understand.

With that said, we can go ahead and honor a warranty replacement for your batteries if you'd like. Shoot Casey an Email and let her know if this PM and I will take care of it.

For three weeks I have been severely dizzy, nausious, with heartburn so bad I thought it was a heart attack.

I would also like to add, the symptoms you have posted above coincide with a Propylene Gylcol allergy :)

Roughly 10-15% of users suffer from a PG allergy when first starting.

I did, and it was bad. 10 days of hell ... actually ended up giving it up, a week later, to try and again, and the symptoms finally subsided :)

Check These Threads for more Details on PG Allergies:

and roughly 30 more going over symptoms ... :)

Azvampyre give your head a shake , your wingnut claims are unfounded !

The US goverment has been trying to kill people for years also, hmmm Analog cigarettes , Alcohol , the military. go get a lawyer and sue the FED they are alot worse for your heath than a ecig.

There was lead in kids toys for years made right here in north america ! and I know for a fact there used to be a magic sand type of toy sold in north america that was mostly Mercury and alot of people turned out fine ! look up Eugenics, goverment is not your friend

Azvampyre, I'm sorry you had such a terrible ordeal and I'm glad you are alright. I would be hesitant to blame a particular supplier, though, since the hardware all comes from the same places.

Anyway I'm hoping that others can learn from this experience. Has anyone else had lithium ingestion issues? I guess it would be prudent to thoroughly inspect our batteries regularly for evidence of leaking? Anything else to watch for?

The only particular things I noticed was liquid getting on my tongue alot and burned so bad that pepsi made it worse, but that may have been the eliquid which I bought somewhere else.

A day before I got ill there was no vapor but huge throat hit, and Id get dizzy and everything went dark for a few seconds. Id hear the atomizer gurgling even when the cart was dry, and that battery would only hold a charge for 20-30 min or less sometimes, but it also charged in less than an hour.

The last time I used it, the battery and atomizer got hotter than it should have, enough to make it uncomfortable to hold. The taste of the eliquid changed too, marlboro would taste like buttery burnt toast or buttery burnt popcorn.

But worst of all, it made me very angry and mean, like I was taking steroids. But I never have. That went away when I woke up this morning.

Im not trying to put the blame on PS, I was just angry that I was almost murdered by an inanimate object from China that I couldnt fight back, it's a horrible feeling.:(

I forgot to mention hot flashes, lots of them..and Im a male.

Light the screw end of the battery and melt the glue and take it apart. (might have done this already) then light the led end for same 5 secs or so then you can take the batt out and check for leakage. Just to dbl ck and see if it is indeed the batt. If it has been leaking you will see some discoloration on the plastic batter wrapping. Unless the doctor did a test and found lythium in your bloodstream. If you get any funny taste deff ck it out see whats up. Sorry you had a rough experience, and hope you feel better soon.
