I'll be one of the speakers in the "new ideas, new thoughts" track of ITW in Berlin next week. ITW is an annual pan-European policy makers' and politicians' meeting in which everything from taxes and austerity to speed limits is discussed. Because I am an agricultural scientist and food technologist I get a slot in that track and I asked the organizers if I could speak about e-Cigarettes (a massive topic of discussion in Europe right now) in the free-form track. They said yes.

So I made this presentation: Vaping vs. Smoking Presentation which I intend to use, along with some anecdotes and stories and overall bloomy speech, to change perceptions on vaping in a more light-hearted, ten cent instead of $10 words, manner.

Please flood me with critique, I want to make this as punchy and powerful as I can.

Very nicely done.

I have one critique. In your second (My name is Jonas) slide, you say that you want to talk about physics, chemistry, biology... "and lies."

However, there are no slides in the presentation that identify or debunk the myths used by ANTZ types to demonize e-cigs. A few examples would be the "antifreeze" scare tactic and the one about them being attractive to children, both of which are easily destroyed using information on CASAA's website. Then there was that junk science "study" by FDA that alleged to have found carcinogens in e-cigs.

If you have the opportunity to make the Stan Glantz types look like the idiots they are, inform your audience and have fun doing it, I'd use it.

Thank you, noted and will be implemented. I am intending the slides to go along with narrative, but you're absolutely right, this is too important a point to not be made in writing and words. Will add this! Thank you, again.

Ack. I'm very interested in this. Though I'm an American, I go to Europe once or twice a year. Was in Berlin for two weeks in May, did not see one vaper 'in the wild'. But I don't have time tonight, have to get to work (I'm a nurse that works nights.) Will try to get to it in the morning.
