Thanks bwood. It only started glowing red while charging after the 12 hours, and after I took it off the wall and into my laptop to see if the outlet was just messed up or the battery.

In the manual, though, it says it will glow a dim red when the charging is complete... What I don't understand is that it also said it will flash 3 times when it's low on power, and it flashed 3 times after taking it off. I've had no problems so far with using, got a bit anxious and suck up a cartridge already. Seems to be working fine, hoping it was just paranoia but I guess I will find out when the e-cig loses power and I need to charge it again. I'll post updates on my e-cig just for those of you who taken their time to try and help me out. Much appreciated, all of you.

@Hellen, I read something similar to that while trying to find out what was wrong with my battery, at the same time that is when I found this forum. I don't think I tightened it too much. but if nothing else fixes it this can always be a good solution to a problem I don't know about.

If that is true that awesome and thank you. The only mentioning I got in the very very very small manual is that it flashes when it is low power. If it's true that it flashes any time it is disconnected that I can not express how happy I am that you posted that. Whether or not it works or breaks in the future, I won't let it change my mind on electronic cigarettes. The most important thing about this is quitting smoking, I don't think you can put much of a price on health.

here is a link to a video on the model you have.

YouTube - EHealth Electronic Cigarette Single Unit

If the link does not work, copy and paste it in to your browser.

It does appear from this video that this model does light up on the end when charging. If the red light on yours is coming on and not going off then it seems it's not charging.

There should be a return policy for a non working unit if the local vendor is at all reputable and wants to maintain his business reputuation. That type of unit sells very cheap from China wholesalers so the vendor you bought from is making a killing on these and word of mouth about poor support/exchange on DOA units, etc., will hurt his bottomline. And word of mouth does spread fast !

Overall, I do hope you have a better experiece should you decide to purchase a better device, from on online vendor who is a member here on the forum and will provide you with support, a unit that will work out of the box, and members here will always be available to help with hints and tips

Thanks for the video. I believe my e-cig is working. That's a shame I spent 59.99$ when you can get them for 7.50$ lol. Oh well, my own fault for not looking into it first.

More than likely going to buy one online now and use the one I have no while I wait for it to ship over.

If anyone has any suggestions on what model I should buy please don't hesitate!

---

I just re-watched that video. This time without music playing. The guy said that the end of the battery will turn red when it is charge, when it is done charging it will turn off. I have mine plugged in with the green / red indicator light on, and the battery is red at the end. Sooo I guess I wait until the red goes away for it too be charged. Good thing I have some chores to do. I will post update to let you all know if it works afterwards. Just in case someone else comes here with the same problem, some of us will know how to help that person.

Cheers.

Don't feel too bad, it happened to most of us. The good thing is that there are kits that work better and now you'll know where to find them.

As for what you should get, you'll get LOTS of suggestions. Understand, these things aren't perfected. You can't have everything. So, you have to decide what's important to you. I'll tell you the first things I think you should forget about. Get over it looking like a cigarette. You don't smoke cigarettes because of how they look. You smoke them for how they feel. You'll be going to take a hit and discovering you have to change the battery more times a day than you care to count with a cigarette sized kit. The second thing to give up is automatic batteries. Go with manual where you push a button to turn the battery on.

If you go with this advice, I recommend you get a big bat. There are three I would recommend to someone starting out. An eGo, a Riva or an e-power. The Riva and eGo are pretty much the same thing. They are batteries that are about as big around as a Sharpie with a 510 connector on the end. The e-power is different because it's a similar shaped case but, it uses a generic battery. These batteries last longer and are cheaper to replace. However, the e-power is bigger around. The e-power also has a 510 connection. The cheapest place to get a Riva is usually Liberty Flights. Unfortunately, they are out. Litecig comes in second. Just make sure you get a 510. For the e-power, go to Madbapes or HoosierEcigSupply. I'm partial to Madbapes but, a lot of people like Hoosier.

good suggestion from mickeyrat--go with a 510-which is the threading, i have a bunch of 510 atomizers that i use on my regular and mega 510 batteries and also my ego batteries--the ego batteries last all day on one charge with 1000 mah batteries(they make a few different mAh batteries) and combined with the personal charging case for my mega batteries ill never run out of power even if my ego quit for some reason--if your trying to keep cost down and want a sweet setup id suggest the new 510T kit from litecigusa or if price isnt really an issue id go with an ego kit, theres a few different kinds just read up on them a bit.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will definitely look into these 510's you're both talking about.

The e-cig looking like a cigarette I can care less, I just had NOOO idea there was so much about these that I didn't know before purchasing this very expensive one, but what's done is done, no buyers remorse for me as I am loving this and will only start to love it more when I have better working devices.

Luckily, yesterday during Mothers day dinner my mom was so ecstatic that I had decided to quit smoking and started using electronic cigarettes to help that she decided to drive down to the u.s. (Which isn't that far from where I am, south ontario) and pick me up a bunch of e-cigs, cartridges and liquids to keep me going for a while until next time she goes back down to the states.

I know I just asked for suggestions, but if anyone has any suggestions of store bought e-cigs that can be found in the buffalo mall (Can't remember the name of the mall, will post when I remember) than I would be most appreciated about that.

Also on another note, the e-cig that I bought and had malfunctions with was replaced by my vendor and now working great. I did realize, however, the battery power hardly lasts over 1 cartridge, which is kind of a bummer for school and work, but will have to do until I can get my hands on more.

Also, my throat has been hurting a lot. I am not sick but every time I swallow or yawn my throat around my adams apple starts to sting almost. I started chugging lots of water (which is a daily thing for me anyways) and it seemed to help a very small amount, but is there anyone else who have had throat aches when first starting on these things?

When I take my batteries off the USB charger, they also flash 3 times. Generally it just indicates that charging is complete, or partial. Definitely sounds like you have a bad battery, however, so I would walk back down to that corner store and ask for a battery replacement. The same kit is available on eBay. Yes, it is a "cheap" kit, but it brought you here - so that is worth quite a bit! :)

Personally, I'm fond of my KR808d-1s. A kit of 2 batteries, wall charger, USB charger and 6 pre-filled cartomizers is $36.95 + $5.00 priority mail shipping from AZsmokefree.com.

Best of luck, and stick to it! For what you'll save by not smoking, it's worth every penny! (my first kit was $110, so I feel your pain!).

Welcome to ECF!

Don't worry... it is common and you're doing the right thing by keeping hydrated. You'll most likely become used to the vapor or may find you need a VG based liquid (some don't tolerate PG well). Here are the common things people notice when starting to vape:

Glad to hear you're up and running! Ordering on line from one of the ECF vendors Forum Suppliers is recommended. You'll have to check to see who will deliver to Canada (or check the Canadian forums to find local vendors who can ship to you). You'll probably find any e-cigs sold in stores/malls are usually way over priced and if you shop the forum vendors you can take advantage of the sales!

Happy Vaping and welcome to ECF! :vapor:

Add me to the list of people saying you should get a 510. I just got mine 11 days ago and I love it! I bought 510-T (tank) atomizers, which are awesome, and couldn't be simpler to use. No filler or teabags needed. You just pull off the tank, inject it with juice (it's clear so you can see exactly what you're doing) and plug it back in. The battery life isn't fabulous, but I find I'm never out of power.

Unfortunately, most mall sellers have one model and it sucks. There are a few on-line retailers that operate storefronts but, I don't know about Buffalo.

Thanks Hellen, ditch.the.pack, lenin and Mickey.

I will definitely take a look at the online vendors here at ECF. I appreciate all the welcomes and I plan on sticking to this, it's just very hard not to go out for an analog, but it's been 3 days so I guess I am doing something right. How much vaping is too much vaping? I am in class from 8 - 315 so I usually have the e-cig in my mouth just taking small puffs with a cloud of vape hanging around my head. Is it bad to just keep hauling on this? Is it better for me to take breaks or is it ok to just keep hauling my analog craving away?

Well, for now, the only limiting factor is the nicotine. You'll know when you get too much of that dizzy, headachy, nauseous feeling. Put it down for a while. The feeling will take a couple hours to pass. Once you are settled into the transition, then it's time to decide how much is too much and that's a purely personal choice.

I was looking through some of the vendors and the DSE 908 Super E-Cig caught my attention. As well as the 901 model. It's a bit pricey but $ isn't an issue for health.

If anyone has some information about this, whether it was read or personal, I would be most appreciated to learn more about this.

As well, if anyone can link me to a vendor of a product they think a "newbie" should use I would also thank you a million times for this. I don't want to make the same mistake twice but there is just so much about each product that it's almost impossible to pick out or find the proper one for you.

If it helps I will be using this a lot, so a long battery / manual battery is important as well as durability, but I think the most important thing for me is getting that nice throat inhale with that amazing relief of an exhale. If anyone understands me, you rule. Haha.

I will tell you what I tell any noobie that asks: Get an ego style kit. They are so worth the money (not very expensive to begin with either) and they WORK great battery life and great TH and vapor. It is a great starter kit because it satisfies and is reliable.

~Kitty

BTW I got my ego kit from Puresmoker and I loved their customer service so I keep going back for all my vaping needs.
