If they had ego twists back when I started vaping, I would have loved to get them, but they didn't. I kept buying cheap box mods that were vv, and one mechanical mod that half the time wouldn't fire. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with a vamo or something like that either. They didn't have those around when I got my Provari either. Lol.

I've seen that one. I think the ones I posted are cooler. (But I don't want anyone else to think so until after I figure out if I can buy one)

I was very, very close to getting one--I can't tell a lie.

Thanks so much for asking the question and also to the folks who gave such great answers. I do have a follow-up question (mostly for Eddie but anyone can answer if you're reading this)...why order two 650 ego twists or two 1300 vision spinners instead of one of each? I am looking to make my first vaping purchase tonight.

You could order whichever one you wish but realize when vaping at a higher voltage the battery drains quicker. Pre Twist and Spinner variable volt Mods had either 12 or 22 hr batteries in them. 100 mah= 1 hr normal vaping before needing recharge.

You need to have at least two batteries; it doesn't matter what brand or capacity. I have several eGos, Rivas, Twists and Spinners--form 400 mAh to 900 mAh (higher capacity batteries are just too big for me). I love them all and I always have at least three of them going--with different heads and flavors.

Hi, Vapoor! Please define "normal vaping."

Just kidding, just kidding! :D

Thank you, I will mostly be vaping in my office and at home where the device would likely go on the charger between uses. I thought I would have the 1300 spinner for sitting here working and the 650 (and smaller sized?) twist for going out to places where I might need a few hours between charging. Am I way off or does that sound like a decent starter plan?

Katya, I can't "like" your post for some reason...but I like your post!

It's a perfect plan. Just check the dimensions of the 1300 mAh Spinner--it's a beast. Make sure you'll be comfortable with that length.

Length: 112mm
Diameter: 17mm

I just got rid of everything that's older than 1 year. Spring cleaning. Luckily, I never order anything larger than 3-5 ml samples. I learned the hard way...

ah I have another question for you then if you're still on....I went to Mt Baker Vapors since they are so popular but I can't find a sample package there. Could you (or others) suggest a reputable e-juice vendor that sells the smaller size bottles? I don't know anything about anything yet but 15 ml seems like a lot for a flavor that might taste terrible to me. I realize the flavour aspect is entirely subjective...but I am a 1 PPD menthol smoker, so I thought to start with 24 mg/ml and a scattering of 80/20 and 50/50 blends in 5 ml bottles would be a good way to figure out what I like. I thought I would try one or two tobacco flavors in there, but a lot of different coffee and chocolate type blends and a couple of fruity ones. I figure that way, if one juice is a big turn off, I can go something completely different and not be tempted to light up an analog.

The 1300 spinner is what my wife uses (pretty Pink!) and they aren't that huge ;) Besides 1300 lasts her like a day and a half without a recharge. The 650s are just too small unless you want to carry a couple of them.

I know a lot of other newbies will be reading this thread so I'll put this out there too...

That Vamo deal several pages back is a SWEET deal! So is the two spinner starter pack. Tough to beat those prices anywhere I've found (this side of a co-op anyway)... so good in fact that I'll be pointing some other more advanced beginners (the ones I've already answered a hundred questions for) in the direction of that Vamo deal and the Spinners for everyone else.

PRO: Variable wattage is all I use any more unless I have one of my wife's Spinners. The whole "automatically adjusting for resistance" is a very sweet deal and here is another reason why! Resistance will not stay constant in an atomizer you are actually using. It changes with temperature and even with gunk build up on the coils. Some of my clearos started off around 2.6 ohms and slowly fell over a couple of weeks use down to 2.2-2.3, one all the way down to 2.0. A good vodka bath got them back up to snuff. So not only is VW on a mod like the VAMO the future (don't worry, I'm sure we'll be seeing VW eGos and Spinners one day soon too) but having a device that will tell you the resistance (like the VAMO does), so you can monitor changes over time, is a great way to roughly anticipate a needed cleaning or replacement... kind of like watching the mileage on a car to tell you when you are ready for an oil change. :)

On a tangent most manufacturers will list a variance in the resistance of their atomizers/carts. It might say "2.4" on the outside or whatever but don't be surprised if you find a +/- .1 on many of them, even brand new.

CON: While I love my VAMO one thing I do not care for is the fact that the drip well is too narrow to fit most Kanger products without an adapter... I *think* this applies to the EVOD as well but can't say for sure. Second, you will read horror stories on the VAMO forum (yeah, it's THAT popular) about such adapters messing up the o-ring in the positive post of the mod itself, if they are tightened "too tight"! NOT GOOD! So I don't use Kangers and I don't use the adapters I see commonly sold, not on my VAMO at least... Third, the Stardust style clearos DO fit the the VAMO just fine BUT the knurled part at the bottom of the tank is out of reach once one of these is screwed on. This means you have to twist the top of the tank to remove it and yeah, even if you are careful sometimes they come apart instead of unscrewing, spilling any liquid you had left in the tank everywhere it's not supposed to be :( SOOOO... Vivi novas are my top recommendation for the VAMO and as a bonus they work great. Any similarly shaped tank (for carts too) would be much easier to use on a VAMO without those sorts of headaches. On the other hand it may add extra encouragement to get into rebuildables (AGA-T2 and A7 in the mail!)

Hahahahah! I'm partial to Mt.Baker and when you can buy a 50ml custom tailored to your nic, pg/vg blend, *and* flavor intensity for around $12 it's hard to buy the little ones any more ;)

personally, I would order just one and I would recommend the 650 EGO twist. I may personally not like the EGO twist but it would be a little cheaper than the spinner. If you find a good deal on the Spinner then just get it. I would also recommend getting a couple different styles of cartomizers and atomizer within your budget.

The reason I say this is for one reason, in case you don't like that type you didn't waste your money. Many of the 510 thread cartomizers and atomizers will work with other units. This way you did not invest a huge amount on the unit/battery itself. I have used the EGO, KGO (an EGO clone), KGO vv, 808 thread e-cig (can't remember actual name), and the Spinner. The original KGO was for me much better than the EGO and when I got the KGO VV (variable volt) I thought it was good also (can change the volt to my preference for each juice) but the Spinner was actually better. My KGO VV can't handle the chain vaping and it has caused the battery to overheat and now will not hold a charge (lasts 2 hours at 3.5v and under 1 hour at anything higher, while before it would last about 7.5 hours at 3.8v). My Spinner just happen to get dropped too many times and broke so I happen to be stuck with my breaking down KGO VV until my Vamo comes in.

The only reason I chose the Vamo is because of it's ability to be smaller (without the extension and one battery) or longer (with the larger battery or 2 smaller batteries and the extention) and it's vw. The biggest reason is that I am a little tired of dropping the Spinners, KGOs and other units and paying $20 or more to replace the battery. When I have to replace the battery/batteries for the NOVA, it will cost almost half of that (able to get 2 smaller size batteries for the Vamo at just under $10). I only ordered one vamo to make sure I like it and maybe in the future will get another type of unit just to have variety.

ok, that is just my 2 cents worth of information that other people may pay 1/2 cent for.
