The lady who works in the office upstairs has fallen in love with my XL Diamond Manual - it's the PINK, natch. Truly, she is smitten :) I let her vape on it and she LOVES it!

The Diamond series doesn't come in a starter kit, so I want to help her put together a starter kit with the XL Diamonds.

2 XL Diamond Batts
Slim charger? or regular charger? (I am having problems with MY slim charger, only one of my four diamonds fit on it)
2 boxes of cartos
A couple flavors of juice

What else?

ETA: Ack! Are they out of PINK XL Diamonds? Boo hoo, I don't WANT to give her mine, but I will iffin I have to in order to get her on board!

Good Morning kittypie,

I would get a Slim Charger....in order to get those other 3 to "fit" so-to-speak give them an extra 1/4 turn. The threads are slightly (.02 mm) taller on the Diamonds.

I would hold off the juice at first, pre-fills are just easier for a new Vaper. As for anything else, maybe 1 drip tip for now and 2 more boxes of cartos. I would get 2 flavors at 2 different nic levels.

I believe in being a minimalist, there is no guarantee your friend will stay vaping. If she doesn't the investment isn't that large, if she does she can always purchase more items on her own.

Best of luck, nice of you to help out a friend!

For me personally, I would start someone out with a PCC, which of course takes the regular size batts. IMO it adds a sense of comfort, knowing you'll always be able to have a charged battery with you. For someone that is trying to quit analogs altogether and go full speed with vaping right out of the gate, it's important to take away the anxiety of possibly having no available options. I think this is even more important with only having a limited number of batteries.

I know it helped me a LOT at the beginning (and still does). With a PCC I don't feel like I'm tethered at all. As we all know, it's not always possible to have an outlet around. Just a suggestion :)

Hi Snow, thanks for your input. How do I do this "1/4 turn"? You mean on the battery post? I don't have any needle nose pliers...wait, we have some here at work, I think. Is that what you mean? THANKS! xoxo

You're most welcomed kittypie! When you screw the battery into the slim charger, just give it an extra 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn. The taller threads are stopping it short of making a post connection preventing it from charging. So you're probably putting the batteries on the charger right now, but the charging light never triggers. Is that about right?

I know...this goes against what I have said in the past with older corded charges, but the taller threads on the Diamonds require it with the slim charger.

My problem seems to be that I can't even get the Diamond batteries to "catch" onto the charger, KWIM...I can't screw it in at all. will work on it...and I'd hate for my newb friend to get discouraged...

I just helped my smoker friend in the office upstairs place her first V4L order :)

I let her borrow one of my manual XL Diamonds today and she took it over to the office of another smokin' lady and guess what? She's going to order, too!

She got:
2 XL Manual Diamonds - purple
Slim Charger
1 pack of prefilleds - Vanilla Mocha Frappe
1 pack of blank Cool Carts

She did not want a car adapter. Well, this will get her started! She is a light smoker (1 pack every 3 days) so I think this is sufficient for her to see if she will stick with it :)

V4L, be good to our new vaper, Jennifer D.!!! I know you will! :D

Sounds great! Let's hope she doesn't vape any blanks. Why would she need a car adapter, though? There is no pass-through or PCC or USB charger to use it with.

Good question. I don't have a car adapter so I'm not even sure how they work. I'm only 5 minutes drive from work and live in the city and rarely drive more than 5 miles for errands, so I don't need one either, I don't think.

As a gift, I PIF'd her one of my USB Wall Adapters and manual PTs, though.

Kitty, the car adapter plugs into the cigarette lighter (now also known as power outlets) and it has a USB to plug into. Good thinking on the USB wall adapter; I myself am leery of using a pass-through on my laptop and that's the main reason I got it.

I think you should get the car adapter for yourself even if it's only used during a power outage. If I didn't have one before the freak October storm hit here, I would have bought a pack of analogs for certain. I call it insurance!

I never thought of that! Can you charge batteries with the adapter as well as using it for a PT? I do have a car adapter + PT that haven't used it for months (hope it still works). A prolonged power outage would cause problems if you didn't have lots of pre-charged batteries sitting around.

I charged my PCC with it because I didn't have a USB charger at the time, but I have one now just in case!
