Okay seriously, I have to log onto a new forum with which I have no knowledge basis, and am forced to reply to 10 threads which were the worst reply's ever.. sorry..just so I can post my first thread to ask a legitimate question............ Anyway enough of that.

I think it's clear that I'm the FNG around here so tell me .......I have no idea what I'm doing, but the idea of vapeing sounds pretty cool to me. From what I've read so far it seems like everyone has a different opinion on every type out there. The 501, 901, 801, blu , the s.s. choice, level.... whatever I don't know, I just want it to work like it sounds like they should. Be small and compact like a real cig, taste good(although this is probably personal preference) good smoke and easy to use, that sort of thing, oh yeah and not the most expensive thing out there. Although if this is another thing that you "get what you pay for" then so be it. Then you hear about mods -do they not work or what? I guess what I'm trying to say is ......I"M CONFUSED

I am going to give you the same advice that I got when I asked this question 2 days ago...

Just pick something and start vaping. I know you are probably hoping, as I was, that you will buy one PV that will last you the rest of your life. After doing the research, I have given up on that idea. You may have to try two or three different models before you find what you like. That's okay though, if you think about it you probably didn't pick the cigarettes you smoke now on your first try either.

Hope this helps, good luck!

Any of the models that you mentioned would be a good start 510,901,801 once you get to see how one works you will be less confused.

on top of this forums page is a sponsering suppliers link that you can look through to find a seller to your liking....

everyone has their personal preferances and valid points that support it so I will give you this roadmap that I snagged from a noob and found that if would be helpful for other noobs with your same concerns

1) Don't put a lot of money into your first e-cig purchase. There will be time to worry about additional hardware and exotic flavors later...
2) Pick one. Don't agonize. Just pick one. Select an e-cig from a short list of a few widely employed models that get talked about the most here and get yourself started. Minute details won't matter as much as you think right off the bat...
3) Save your money. You'll need it for add-ons and/or alternate choices once you get going and have a better idea of what you need...
4) But, do buy some e-juice with your e-cig and don't load-up on too many cartridges. You will find out why soon enough...
5) You're going to have questions once your new baby arrives. The answers to most of them ARE already available in the forum's knowledge base

I hope this helps your concerns and if not maybe someone elses post will get you closer to vaping

I agonized over my first e-cig purchase as well... All the little details were important to me, and I was afraid of getting a dog... But, as was mentioned earlier; you're probably not going to find your life-long match the first time around... It's a journey, not a destination...

I started out with a 510, which is a great little unit, but I didn't like the idea of pushing a button, so I got a kit with one manual, and one automatic battery (against almost everyone's advice). Turned out I hated the automatic battery cutting out on me (just like they told me) and returned it... Thankfully, e-Smokey Shack didn't mind exchanging it for another manual batt..

Now, I vape almost exclusively on my home-made nico-sticks, based on various atomizer types (so much for fetishing over the "look and feel" imperative...) But I'm still thinking about picking up a good super-mini to use in the car...

You're charting new territory here, so just relax, do a little reading, and make a choice... It's not a life-or-death decision... Chances are, even if you like your first choice, you're probably still gonna want to try other things and experiment.

If you want my advice, though, I think a 510, or a 901 with a manual switch would be good models to start off with... And NEVER pay more than $50 or $60 for a starter kit... Unless it's a Prodigy, or some other high-powered mod.

Oh, and don't worry about pre-filled carts... They're not your friends... You can easily re-fill 'em yerself...

Most have already said it, but it's true that you should really just go with one and start vaping - a lot of your knowledge will come with time. However, I understand it's a bit disconcerting to be told "spend money on something you don't know if you'll like!"

I spent a lot of time researching, and I ended up going with the 510. I couldn't be happier. I might buy another ecig in the future, but for now I am more than satisfied with my first purchase. And many others start with the 510. It's a good 'un.

On a whim, I happened to have bought a couple 30ml bottles of juice at the same time I bought the 510 starter kit. I am so happy that I did - the 5 cartridges the kit came with were fine, but they are hardly going to last you any where near a week's worth of time. Which could be a real problem if you start using it, and then all of a sudden you're tapped out and would have to wait on an order of juice or other cartridges to be shipped to you!

I spent @$50 for the starter kit - with 2 attys, 2 battys, 5 carts, and a charger. I spent $15 for the two bottles of juice (just choose something you think you might enjoy - for me one of the no-brainer choices was Red Bull! Love it.). And, after learning what can happen when you break your atty and don't have a backup on hand, I just bought two more attys for @$15. So, in total I did spend almost $100 with shipping. And I've had the whole setup, in use, for 11 days. It's already over half paid off because for every day I've had the ecig, I have not bought a pack of cigarettes (at $5/pack). I'll break even on my starter purchase before a full month's worth of vaping.

Go for it! It's fantastic, and it's life-changing. You can read all of the stories on this forum to see that.

Research, pick one, get started. I agree with the previous posts. You'll learn as you go.

I researched and it seemed (to me) that the 801 and 510 were the most talked about. I bit the bullet and bought one of each. The 810 is smoother, but the 510 gives a nice throat hit and doesn't cut off until I let go of the switch, so it's the one I use all the time. My wife tried them both and uses a 510 now too. Although the 510 satisfies my urge, I'm not stopping there... I have a Silver Bullet on order <38 year old happy dance> (my appologies for the visual), and I intend to try some of the other models talked about on the boards. Besides, I'm saving a fortune on my auto insurance by switching to Giec... err, I mean, on my smoking habit by switching to vaping!

A lot of people don't like the prefilled carts, so order juice and if you don't like them either, you can squeeze out the prefils and refill with the new juice. You can learn how to do this in the mod section.

Give it time. These things aren't great out of the box. It takes a little time to break in the atomizer so be patient. It's a whole new world on day 2.

Good luck on your search. Lots of great people here with a lot of experience and great information!

All the above advice pretty much covers it. I rarely advise people on my personal preference because that is what it is, my personal preference.
Besides I'd just be throwing in another into the mix and you are probably pretty confused as it is.
Any of the ones mentioned here will probably be a good starting point. So jump in and go.
The only thing I didn't see mentioned here is, no matter the model, when you first get it, it'll probably have a bad taste to it. It's the stuff they put on the atomizer to stop it from drying out. Puff continuiously on the thing (10-20 times) before inhaling.
And just remember, once you get the hang of it, you'll most likely love it.

I also agree with everyone else...
I started on the 510, today is day 8, no analog since i got the kit in the mail

As far as juice goes, dont start off with a big bottle, get some smaller sample bottles, because you may think you like one flavor, but totally hate it and go to something else.

I was a hardcore Marlboro smoker, and my favorite is now Menthol, go figure
