Please, vaping community...reassure me

I'm having a difficult time today with the ignorance involving every topic under the sun - including vaping - being spouted from loud, militantly asinine people all over the internet.

This is one of the few places where the masses don't leave me feeling like an island in the midst of a sea of stupidity and I need something resembling a hug.

My daughter is the biggest cause of it today. She believes every poppycock "Z0MG they're all trying to kill our kids with vaccines and public schools are bad mmm'kay!" article out there.

I think the SINGLE thing she's okay with is me vaping because it stopped me from smoking cigarettes.

The day she finds a nutty site against it, though, is the day we no longer have anything to agree on.

She's seriously getting on my last nerve today. Granted, my lack of good sleep over an extended period of time isn't helping me cope any better.


On the good news front, one of the overstuffed mattress pad thingies I ordered is being delivered today so there is at least a chance of having a somewhat improved night tonight. I don't put THAT much faith in a mere mattress pad but it's better than the cement slab that is my mattress right now.

She's 33 and my grandchildren will be homeschooled by her during her stupid years. Fortunately, they likely won't catch polio, chicken pox, measles, influenza, etc. until they're old enough to venture from their shielded cocoon, at which time they'll likely stupidly DIE or become disfigured because their mother is a nutjob. Of course, they'll believe it had something to do with Satan because they will be entrenched in the goofy fundamentalist home teaching my daughter is serving them.

Hopefully she'll have stopped breastfeeding them by then because that would be awkward in the ER.

It's been a series of bad moments and they're coming too close to me and those around me.

My defenses are weak lately and I don't have the strength to brush it all off.

I've known people like that and they just beg to have their necks wrung. Most of the kids that I've known that have been raised like that eventually seem to turn out pretty well. I can only attribute it to being raised in a different environment and when they do go out into the world are better able to be more tolerant and make sounder decisions because they are able to look at life from various perspectives. Doesn’t always work out so well for the parents once the kids realize how controlling they were. Suffering miserable hay fever today so hope you understand what I mean.

I thought kids had to be vaccinated by law these days.

My ex-wife was like that. What people fail to realize is that all of these diseases that have been more or less eradicated in "first world" countries (like ours) such as polio and smallpox are such because we vaccinate our children to prevent them from getting it in the first place.

As far as vaping is concerned, quite frankly, I don't think that enough people are educated enough about it to really understand it to the point where they can form an informed decision. It's our job to educate the masses, but that in and of itself is no easy task.

It's just like politics. The left hates the right, the right hates the left, and moderates hate everyone.
