Yeh i thought so... But i can't seem to think of any "issues" that could have made ecf completely filter out even the name from being mentioned anywhere. What was it? What happened?

More generally, I would suppose this forum goes through much the same cycles of drama that any forum will. Especially given the large, diverse audience it appeals to. I've seen evidence of several occurrences here. I am not a frequent enough participant to have seen much first hand. Which speaks to the fantastic job the owners of this site do to keep discussions on track and civil.

What happens is, like in any large group of people, cliques form. Sooner or later, some of those cliques will disagree with the forum at large, or especially the owners/admins. Usually a difference in policy or opinion. In order to maintain the integrity of the rest of the universe within that forum, the owners usually end up cleaning house. It can and does get ugly, with users getting banned and returning with new user id's to either retaliate or recruit. Blocking certain key words or phrases reduces the amount of damage control effort to keep the peace.

Why it happens really doesn't matter. If you take the time to acquaint yourself with the rules and the general theme of the forum, it's easy enough to act right and be a valuable participant. Unfortunately, there's a small group of people that can't do that for a lot of reasons. Some people just thrive on drama and conflict. Don't be that way and the original topic won't matter.
