I think that's great. I had people ask me about it. There is a little curve to it because of all the other chemicals in cigarettes. Once I got past that it was fine.that's what I tell people. I just say keep going and then you don't need a cigarette. Actually I don't even want one. I don't miss how my clothes and breath smelled.

I can tell you what my doctors think... (I've a few, due to a couple of degenerative illnesses - does that make me a degenerate, lol? /winkyface)

One by one as I've told them, they've been ever so glad to know - one even clapped me on the shoulder in congratulations. Two different doctors (one while I was in the ER, and the other mentioned it while I was in the recovery room after an outpatient procedure) told me how grateful they were that I was vaping*, because quite a few patients who smoke/use tobacco for their nicotine start getting super antsy and often angry or mean. I was a little humbled at that, because that used to be me.

The clinic where I get my monthly medication by IV (for MS) allows me to openly vape while there, since I'm there for two hours. The other people who come or go in the room for their own treatment often ask openly about it, and only once have I ever had someone disapprove; it was another patient. We were well apart in the room, though, so she didn't complain about me directly - I assume she'd heard or found negative information on vaping and allowed her emotions to run with it. I just avoided her - that specific mix of anger and emotionalism is not something I want to 'take on' or try to 'change', since it's often based in fear and will purposely often argue for the sake of arguing, and try to make you look bad.

Quite a few strangers have asked me about vaping in general, because on the street or otherwise in public I'm openly puffing away, since that's still ok here.

Cheers! Thanks for starting this thread - hopefully it'll gain some traction!

*After asking permission. Much easier in those environs to ask first.

Lots of people are now vaping, but we're really a small segment of a big world. Some people find it unusual and fear of the unknown is real. Also, some people see you with a rig and think you may be smokin' something you shouldn't. All we can do is try to be responsible vapers and do what we can to improve acceptance.

I actually had one of a few good public experiences this weekend with my vape as well....

I was getting some coffee at one of my favorite spots in the city, and I went out to the back porch to vape with my coffee. There was a couple there (I'm guessing in their 60s) and they were both non smokers. He eventually asked me what it was that I was "smoking" (ivp2 + kayfun) Told him it was a vape etc... and he ended up saying "man I wish more people were using those that smells amazing!" haha

i definitely got a kick out of it. I was vaping some strawberry custard, and he was one of the few that as soon as he heard I wasn't inhaling smoke he immediatly thought of the health benefits instead of being completely ridiculous and trying to tell me there are more chemicals than cigs in my vape. (happens to me a lot)
