Alright, I think everybody has officially heard of and/or been on the parallel bandwagon. It's a great way keep your ohms low, while increasing surface area X2. So far all I've gotten is better flavor, denser vapor, but not more vapor. They usually take a little longer to heat up how I've made them, I'm interested to see y'all's working parallel's, and maybe we can all get some tips from eachother.

I'll start us off, Here's a HARD AS HELL parallel to try if you like dense flavorful vapes, a 24 gauge dual macro coil, wrapped 4 times on a micro-screwdriver slightly smaller than a 1/8th" drill bit, and one consecutive wire, well two uninterrupted lengths of wire. WHOO building a parallel coil inside one side of an rda is friggin stressfull, especially if you want it to look purdy. (came out to .35 ohms, wicked with shiseido cotton, takes a tiny bit long to heat up for my tastes, maybe a full second to get angry, but when she does it's super good flavor, and a dense mouthful, can chase clouds with 2 second pulls).

that'll do pig.
Here it is wicked and beaten by electricity.

That's impressive man, it's not easy to get a nice coil in those atty's, I've done it on the nautilus anyway. Amazing flavor, and just as good vapor as I get from my kayfun. I bet that setup is bangin flavor.

If your looking for a good mechanical for a good price dude, this is literally my favorite mod, it has to be the most underrated mechanicals in history lol. For only $30, a Turtle Ship V2 clone by hcigar gives you an EPIC button that never locks, is always smooth, and has all silver contacts (volt drop of .09!), a floating silver 510 connection, it will adjust to anything, it's so capable it's not even funny. It looks sexy as hell with anything, has a great hidden locking ring, with the magnetic switch upgrade it makes the button even smoother, and it can be set down without firing (with springs or magnets).

I have a few authentics including a LE red copper stingray (I splurged for my b-day on that one lol), which is supposed to be one of the best performing mechanicals out there (and it is really good), but I prefer this Hcigar clone over that (and even my authentic turtleship v2, it's got a better volt drop and button!), that's how confident I am in this mod. It's my all day battery device, I'm thinking about selling my authentics and getting another because it's just perfect.

I can't think of a better mechanical to get when your hard on cash, I know you'd like it. (Sorry for rambling about it lol, I just think more people should know about this mod, there's something...magical about it lol.

She isn't all that pretty but she heats up without any hot legs and glows from the center out. 28g kanthal a1 0.89 ohms wound on a 2mm rod 6/7 or 12/14 depending on how you look at it.

I torch and pull my wire to get the kanthal nice and straight after folding the length in half. This helps by making the wire soft and more malleable. I form a J at the negative end (where I folded the wire) and wind up from there.

This atty has a broken tank so it isn't going to get wicked, though it would obviously run fine.

If I had the whim to rip apart my russian 91 I would show yall my twisted 32g parallel coil man oh man is the flavor bangin. the vapor is good for what can be expected of a kayfun style. it really brings out my adv which is black honey tobacco, DIY of course. parallel coils have become my favorite build due to ease of build and performance when put next to standard micros. its all the fun of dual coils but in a single coil woohoo.

Care to share your DIY? A link would be cool so as to not distract from the topic here.

I like parallel coils for the fun of building them, I just don't have stuff to secure the leads in a way I find secure enough.

for sure kind of a thread jack by here we go
I do 80%VG 20%distilled water and at a 5% flavoring of TFA's Black honey Tobacco, it has a long steep time so I mix it in huge batches but it has such a light and subtle honey flavor I can't get enough of it.

That ^^^ parallel build has always looked like art to me. It's just so dang purdy.

I tried a parallel build when I first started rebuilding, and I totally hosed up the wick job on it. Worst dry hits ever. I may have to give it another go now that I have a bunch of rebuilds under my belt. Maybe when my Magma clone gets here. Hmm...

Edit- crap. Foiled by a new page. May as well add one of these -->

Hits pretty well...

Nice, now that you have that posted I must try the certifiably insane parallel Clapton coil.

Please anyone feel free to beat me to the punch on this build...is it even possible to do this with 32g kanthal?

Parallel Clapton, 32 on 28 a1. Ohms out to 0.32 so I'm not going to run a second coil (as if another would fit in the positive post).

It vapes like a flame thrower...LOL.

Edit: I am not saying a Clapton coil can't be done 32 on 32 but I will say I couldn't make it happen today.

I've had a parallel in my Igo-T (with airholes drilled out to 5/64" 'cause, damn, those things come with tight from the factory...) for a while, a single 0.9Ω done on a 1/16" drill bit of 28 ga. Kanthal A-1. Vapes like a champ, with incredible flavor, solid vapor, minor clouds, but nothin' huge (I'm more a flavor chaser than a cloud chaser, but to each their own, right? ). I prefer to run regulated, and have been lovin' this on my Hana Modz V3. The juice is Good Life Vapor's Purple Stuff, vaped at 23.7W.

This is the coil after it's first cleaning. As you can see at the ends, I kinda gacked up the coils pullin' the cotton out, but that was pretty much straightened up after this pic with a bit of burn 'n' squeeze. You can probably also see that I twisted the wire ends coming off of the coil (there's about 1/32" of straight wire off of the coil proper before the first twist). Kinda goofy, I know, but my personal experience was that, after getting everything nice and straight and tight, twisting the end leads before installing seems to make the coils glow a bit more evenly at the ends. Maybe I'm just a bit weird? I have lived in Wyoming since 1984, after all.

This is after rewicking and getting a nice cotton cloud under and around it so I can get several pulls out of it.

This is roughly an eighth of a second after hitting the fire button.

And this is at about a half second.

I absolutely love the flavor and throat hit these coils give out. I like them just a little bit more than I like dual ultrananocoils (had a pair wrapped on a #74 drill bit, which is just 0.0003" larger than 23 AWG, lol) at about the same wattage. I've also tried a parallel in my Russian 91%, but I'm havin' a few issues with juice flow. Might have to drop down to 30 ga. from 28 ga. and try that. Hope it works, anyway!

Anyhow, lets see more of those parallels!

Keep on vaping, everyone! :vapor:
