Volcano says they will get the testers in tommorow (I guess the first 25 are going out as test units)
still looking at a Lava Tube Release date of Nov 15th, gonna be a kit for $99 not sure what all it will have in it.

edit: I found this video as well of someone with a tester model I suppose. Not sure if this is an actual "Lava Tube" in design or just the generic Power VV mod

Lavatube
Lavatube testers will be in tomorrow and be sent out FedEx so if you are a tester or a winner of a Lavatube you will be getting them Monday. If you have a PO box as an address we will ship it USPS or you can give us another addy before then. Sometime this week end you will receive an email containing some guidelines we would like you to follow in the testing of these. But I will explain more in the email.

If all goes well which we are hoping we will have them for sell on the site around the 15th of Nov. We will have enough to cover all the emails we have for people that were interested in a pre order as well as enough to last the week there might be a short delay in the second shipment so there might be a day or two where we are out after the first week but after that we should be fine for stock.

Kit will include:

* The mod body and end caps
* 18650 AW batts
* Truefire charger
* Lavatube atty 3.0ohms
* Drip tip
* Carrying Case
* And a mystery item that holds 7ml hasa window and works at voltages from 3v to 6v, more info to come later.


All for $99
There will be a Black model and a Chrome model

I think the "mystery item" is some sort of tankomizer.

Not 100% sure how I feel about the price I could import this for around 70 bucks but I suppose as a "kit" 2 18650's and a charger (if I didn't already have one) would cost me about 17 dollars plus an atomizer is at least 5 bucks, so 22 bringing it up to 92 dollars. The carrying case I would never use but I guess the free drip tip and possibly a tank system of some kind makes it an all right buy at 99$ probably wait till wensday and go for the 15% discount bringing it down to 84.99.

Do hope they decide in favor of a bare bones kit which they say they are considering.

Does anyone know if Volcano will be selling the Lavatube w/o the kit?

I already have plenty of batteries and a charger.

Ordering it from L-Rider would be 32$ for a complete set with cheaper batterys and charger, if somebody would set up a coop, shipping could be held low. With customs maybee 50/55 $. Just saying.

We got the body only in Europe for 35€, with shipping customs VAT and everything included, that would be 48~$.
I am happy with the body only, because have lots of batterys and chargers laying around.

You are seeig the VV power in the video, and AFAIK it is black aluminium.

Then I see now, they are not talking anymore about the amazing better technical specs of the lavatube, so it is what most of us thought, just a rebranded VV power bundled with some rebranded atos and a good battery. IMHO

All the vendors in Europe and the UK will start in the next few days selling them at a regular base, with units in Stock. I am pretty sure that other vendors in the US will also do, and body only offers at a far lower price tag.

As far as I know too, it is aluminum. Still light. There's a very quick video on Ecigwizard's Facebook that shows how resistant it is. Btw, the guy sounded really nervous...

What I think looking at some of the video clips, they are really bad made. Dont think they help in selling them.

I also think if like Volcano does, selling them at kiosks and other fisical places, where it is showed to you, and you just pay for it and take it with you, that will sell pretty well, even at 99 bucks a set.

Yes, I agree regarding the videos. Fortunately, the product sells itself easily.

And I agree regarding Volcano (the capitalist ?*+)=º!): in fact, a lot of terrible ecigs (not the case, so...) are sold in America at prices that just make no sense.

True, but it keeps being my ecig shopping paradise. nowhere I find so much new stuff all the time.

Perhaps the videos are not doing it justice but it is a solid piece of kit. Threading is nice, buttons are sturdy, screen is well made.

It us about 1 hour to get one torn apart to get inside it...

It's certainly metal and light, quite tough also.

It works well, it's simple but works.

On/Off button to lock it.

+ and - buttons to adjust the voltage which is instant.

Measured on multimeter and it is perfect.

Tried it with a high voltage atomiser and it works a treat at 6v


Buttons have a good "click" to them and feel very solid. Threading on the battery connector is nice and chunky, little bit gritty but a clean and some noalox would sort that out I'd imagine.

No problems with it so far except for the one which we intentionally destroyed. It took a few throws & kicks before it gave up though.

Gosh, I'm still waiting for some email from Yovapeo. *sigh* It seems like the tube will change my life, lol, and of course it won't! Reminds me of the first time I ever saw the Rome Colosseum and thought "what, is this it, all ruined and all?". And then, my second time, I looked at it and thought "Well, it's quite interesting after all". I know theoretically not to keep my expectations high but practice is something different...

Any idea when Europe is expecting an actual shipment and not the 25 sampler units? I might try and import one without all the extra's, still debating on whether the extra 25 dollars is worth the cost
