I literally have no idea how to define "the committee".

I assume (but not even sure on these) whiskey, tibs, kat, nat, tomcatt, CES, Fran, starry, Amanda, me.
But what about Lost? Meggers? (jj2 is/was, now not. That right? IDK), others.

There are several others that have been active more recently, morri, markfm seems interested and is participating in this discussion. And whiskey said morri was here and "on the team" so...??? A few others have "popped in".

Of course, others have been with us but kind of faded, like Pokey, Retriever, shoe, cranky, gummy, dusty to name a few.
j0ker already has admin rights so he can see the forum no matter what. Then there's the admin/mods for PVT list time editing.... like classy.

Here's the list from the FAQ's

AmandaMarie: Sets up who is going to start Welcome Threads and sends out reminders.
AttyPops: Keeps us grounded.
CES: The fetcher of ancient histories (most importantly the celebrant's first post). Welcome Thread starter.
Classwife: Hunter of times. Welcome Thread starter.
FranC: Checks Post counts. Welcome Thread starter.
Gummy Bear*: Photoshop Guru and helper with avatars when asked and an all around nice curmudgeon.
jj2: FAQs. Founder and helps with Veteran and Mini contests. Moderator of the sub-forum New Welcome Threads in the Veteran's Forum.
Katya: PreVet playmate (helps move non Vets post from the PreVet Thread to Welcome Threads). Welcome Thread starter and carrier of the Bird.
Pokeygizmo: PokeyWooter PreVet playmate (helps move non Vets post from the PreVet Thread to Welcome Threads). Welcome Thread starter.
Retriever: Welcome Thread opener and all around volunteer.
starrynight: The maker of a glittery surprise for those who have chosen an Avatar Party.
tiburonfirst: Captain of the playmates and carrier of the Bird.
tomcatt: Does the drudge work of putting a who's about to turn list together for the next couple of months.
Whiskey: The founder of the PreVet Thread, gate keeper, our gracious hostess with the most-est, and the keeper of the bird. Welcome Thread starter. Cracks the whip with the no-no finger.
Also watches over the Did you celebrate a PreVet Party thread.

This is where we have to specifically list users, not use vague terms like "committee" without defining it. We have to be specific so j0ker can set up the list. :)

We have a cool opportunity with a sub-forum, if approved. Stickies to organize FAQ's, info, help pages. Places for people to post feedback (maybe, assuming they could start threads), announcements, etc. Maybe a different chit-chat area to keep extra stuff out of the main one (if wanted).... all sorts of cool things.

Of course, having feedback and allowing other ECF'ers to post would mean a public, rather than private, sub-forum.

I'd hope that someone, or several, would be kind enough to either volunteer for "committee" work and or double check what I posted above and help me define the forum access also. I'd rather we check each other and not miss anyone. There are several people I may have offended just by accidentally leaving a name out above. Lot's of people come and go, and I'm tired after swimming so.....

No offense intended if I left you out. Speak up.

I can build a form, similar to posting a Classified Ad or requesting Verified Member, that post additions to a post as needed, then it wouldn't matter who had edit privileges and concurrent additions wouldn't be an issue. It's definitely something we can trial to see if it works.

As far as the new private subforum goes, it's only purpose will be the list and our discussions, which may be best kept private. Not necessarily for secrecy but more for discussions best not left to public viewing. It would basically be an admin area.

OK Atty, I am speaking up. Whiskey sent me a PM before I started coming in for the "meetings" and asked if I would join the pre-vet team. I said yes. I am here. What can I do?

:)

morri

edit: if you remember, previous to that, all I did was post pics and say hello, things like that.

That sounds cool. May be more work for you than needed. We could have a sub-forum (private) that we all access and a simple sub-forum under that that had admin rights for the list thread editors, that would hold the list thread. A lot like the vip/veteran's forum with the welcome-thread sub-forum. Just a thought. Might save you having to build a form.

The form will be no problem at all, in fact it may be easier than defining privileges! Hang tight, we may have a working solution as early as tomorrow, then we will begin testing and tweaking.

Atty, if you could, try to finalize a list of team members. Let's try to keep that list below 10 members. If we need more later, we can always add them as time goes by....
