Tom gets a grand prize entry into "Distracting and sarcastic and insulting GIF" contest. Although he has helped a lot too so it cancels out.
We're getting very close here I think. Hang in there gang!
I don't know the unintended consequences of opening the contest to everyone with a valid welcome thread (in new members forum, started prior to turning in 2012 ).... it seems that it would turn all the -- to ++ and have no effect on XX ( i agree with prior to turning now...I've been convinced ) the possibility of going this route is that no one would bother with an avi party- or we'd just get the people who really want one
though the lesser change to the contest is to relax the avi party scheduling , but keep the attendance requirement, that choice would require going back through the -- to see who didn't do an avi party, who missed it by a hair, and who attended without being scheduled... only a portion of -- would become ++, and someone would have to figure it out. We would still deal with the occasional no show, ans have to track whether or not they were there at the proper time.
(and here i am talking about mechanics)

You have good logic skills CES. (Yes..the rest of you too... but I really like that last post CES).
The 2nd paragraph basically explains why I think losing the AviParty restriction on the GP is a good idea. Not fun. Hard to go back through, IMO.

Well, you already have my vote. They are eligible for the GP if they are eligible for the monthly.

btw - i would not go back since the change only involves a possible second entry. requiring attendance was added with much more impact and no going back - which was fair enough imo.

i could be losing track but somehow it seems to me that the attendance requirement was added after the fact because we were stood up so many times ...........
My thoughts---pounce away if you must. And keep in mind I've been skimming so I'm not up to date on what has been discarded.

Anything involving backtracking is going to take hours of work. Who among you will do it?

Use jOker's suggestion to just let them post in the thread the month they turn.
To make the past equalize the now and future, everyone from January until now can post their own entry---yes, even the one's who have participated.

Well, I am not gonna pounce, JJ. I usually refrain from pouncing when at all possible. LOL But, I think........it was Atty that first talked about Keeping it Simple and KISS and all that, but I do agree we should try to keep it simple because it would just be easier....ugh
and basically I guess I need to know more about the........going back and what all that involves, etc.

Just for the record, morri. We have all been saying K.I.S.S. for a while now, one way or another, since the current situation is rough. lol. The challenge, of course, is in defining what that means....

This goes to Tibby's point of "who we turned down already."
