Also, would a social group (for PVT thread participants) help at all? Would it draw attention and advertise the PVT? Does not mean the List thread or the main thread is held inside the S.G. It would give people some... grouping... and... membership.... feelings.

It wouldn't be exclusive... so you don't have to be in the group to participate in the thread.

I'm still thinking a googledocs spreadsheet is a reasonably attractive method for handling a shared list. There's nothing secret about the data that should be on it, it's inherently oriented towards being able to allow multiple people edit rights, with others view-only, generally decent access control features.

It allows simultaneous edits, as well as tracks changes.

It does require a google account for those involved. IDK if we can link to it (like use an external link) however, we can continue to post copies in the PVT.

P.S. I vote text document (maybe with a table in it) unless you know of a reason to do math with it...

Do what ever you want Atty, this to me, has dragged on long enough, just stating my opinion.
Please don't forget our turning today, I am going to get myself more focused with Pre-vet from here on out.
Later~

9 1/2 more hours whis. JJ and j0ker and whomever can still comment. J0ker said not to rush, and I promised to keep it open for comment, so....

It will be done soon. :)

Text is fine, too. I work in spreadsheets all the time, but a simple text table would be fine, and even literally a couple lines of text per person would also work, if desired.

Google accounts are pretty trivial, free. Anyone with a Droid smartphone will already have one, otherwise sign up on google.

Pretty sure you can link to it, I believe they do for the current Panasonic battery coop (tracking who wanted what).

i think a social group is probably more trouble than it's work, since the list can't be posted there in a single post, so it we would still have to find a palce to park the list.

A subforum with several moderators would be my first choice- assuming management would allow us to have a subforum, but still keep the main PVT thread in general. Without the two assumptions it also isn't a good coice.

the only other option is google docs. it's workable, we still might need two documents- the working list and the final list...but it could work.

I can't think of any other options.

FYI - Just so everyone knows the type of thing we're talking about for the list storage (since we'd like a common area that the "list editors" can access)
File hosting service - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Comparison of file hosting services - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Common file hosting services include Amazon Cloud Drive, Box.net, Dropbox, FileServe, Gladwinput, Google Drive, Hotfile, Humyo, Jungle Disk, Apple's iCloud, iDisk, MediaFire, Mozy, RapidShare, Scalibux, Microsoft's SkyDrive, Softonic, SpiderOak, SugarSync, SwissDisk, Ubuntu One, Wuala, ZShare and many more. Wikipedia has a "Comparison of file hosting services" page. A list of over 1400 hosting services can be found at filehostwatch.com.[1]

Calameo, Docstoc, edocr, Google Docs, Issuu, wePapers and Yumpu are document-sharing services.

Cloud collaboration - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Now I'm not saying the all of the above are the same, nor am I saying we can't use Google Drive. I did want to see what's out there these days.

I'm not personally fond of having to install google's trackware (google plus and such) just to use google drive. That's an assumption at this point. I know it needs a google account. I make it a point to uninstall google plus if it is ever installed on my system. However, if I don't have to edit the list, that isn't an issue for the team.

It would likely take, in effect, a subforum area with people having local mod privileges, analogous to pif. That might be tougher than cloud stuff. A pita just to give more than one person the ability to edit a list.

Cloud is probably still worth poking at, whether google, zoho, or other.
