My sweet spot is about 2 ohms on 34 gauge kanthal, crowned at 8 to 10 Watts depending on my mood. I've tried the same resistance at 32 and 30 gauge, and the 34 just seems to burn hotter at the same power level. Higher than 2.2 and maintaining sufficient boost drains batteries too quickly. Lower than 1.8 or so makes the flavor thin. This 1.9 ohm coil I just built in my kayfun is like a coconut vanilla custard cupcake just melted on my tongue. 10 Watts adds an extra "Hey, how ya doin?" to my throat -- as much as 2mg juice can offer, anyway.

I think you're overlooking the main point here... Its a mechanical mod. In order to get that vape like you do on a 3 ohm coil at high voltage; from a mechanical mod, you need to mimic that wattage. There is no booster circuits doing the job, its just nature of the beast at play. That's why wattage is wattage, and while yes, it does in fact draw more current... there's no other way around it when doing this.

Why would someone prefer the higher battery drain over not? Well, if you drop your mod in the pool, or a lake, or in the toilet, whatever... your booster circuit is is pretty much toast at that point. Then you're left with what? A MECHANICAL MOD, just pick it up, dry it off, load some fresh juice, and continue on with your day. :)

This is just how I see it from the perspective of when the apocalypse comes, I'm still getting my vape on!! :vapor:

Mines super tight....I will try it later, as of now there is no need for it with a HH 510 atty-the draw is perfect with the regular cap... I just tried my Crown for the first time...Works great, but you do need to put the ELA close to your ear to hear the beeps as the wall thickness muffles the sound...
I popped the coil on a 2 week old HH357 1.5 ohm atty while trying to adjust it....Damm I couldnt hear it and kept holing the button down...Grrrrrrrrr
Back to the atty reveiws.... The 0.8 ohm coil works well @ 3.7 volts, but for me its to hot(harsh) of a vape....A 1.5 ohm coil at 3.7 volts is a good vape, I know as the battery voltage drops the vape gets abit weak .... I like to vape at 10-11 watts...
For all you sub ohm coil builders they are to hot(harsh) of a vape IMO when compared to the smooth warm dense vape that a 3.0 ohm coil offers when Kicked/Crowned set at 10 watts.... You can try to argue the point that watts is watts but the proof is in the pudding-the vape!
A 0.8 ohm coil draws twice the amps vs a 3.0 ohm coil....High amps drain your battery much faster....Also every HR coil Ive owned has outlasted LR versions..... :2c:
P.S. Im sure with a lower nicotine level then I use(30mg) the sub ohm coil would be better... But not for me as a 3.0 ohm is perfect when kicked @10 watts....

Has anyone used the adjustable air cap? The top part of the regular cap is very hard to take off, mine wont budge...I guess I need to use a wrench to remove it..?

Yes, it can be very tight, especially when tightened all the way down and then trying to back it off. We machined in a flat on the cap just in case this should happen. (11/16 wrench fyi) Check out the video here for more information. I recommend a bit of lube on the oring(s) too:

Hi Forced, I have been wondering when video 5 will come out and if we can have a bit more detail of hybrid connection and its o-ring set up; how many o-rings and sizes. Are there 3 o-rings on the center pin configuration? I sent you an email with some details as to why Im so curious about the details.:) I hope you see it soon.

Anyone else get the email from cloud 9 vaping? They will be selling the ELA today! Which means some noob out there could just stumble upon it and get theirs before me. Not really fair considering i have had to wait months for it and go through all the delays.
We ordered long enough ago that the emails have been archived, I think it was sometime in February, and we're only getting half what we ordered. I think the customers over here have been very patient (and those who have waited to purchase directly from us have shown an awesome amount of loyalty, considering they could have pre-ordered from David).
"Some noob" is now much more likely to see it and purchase one, after seeing your post - and potentially disappoint many of our customers who've been patiently waiting for so long.

Dont think of this as "they" are getting before us, and its not fair, just think of it as if Cloud 9 was a person that ordered X amount for himself and is selling the extras like a lot of people do already, The Cloud9 " person " ordered theirs when they did just as we did.

I know it "sounds" like you are being skipped over, but really its not. Even if lets say, I had ordered a dozen and some might say its not fair her order is holding mine up , but really NO. What the difference between one person vs 12? Your order is still being sent out in the order it was placed.

Lets not be fickle like some "other" customers from a certain greek place and start to "turn" into the angry, torch burning, illogical mob.

Anyone has the right to purchase the amount they can afford and if they decide to sell extras in the classifieds and make some money, though it doesnt seem right, it is a right we all have.

Now lets get back to waiting patiently and have fun as we have been doing.

Hey Lisa, I am happy for you and all and i doubt my post in this thread will effect the ela's going to their rightful owners considering this thread consists of people who have pre-ordered theirs already. I am just surprised 3rd party sellers were allowed to purchase from a limited batch of pre-orders. Anyhow good luck with it all. Im sure they will sell out in no time. *puts pitchfork down

just in case, COM, I hope you didnt think I was necessarily aiming the "mob" thing at you, but sometimes all it takes is a spark and everyone gets riled up. You have every right to your concern in thinking how it is they are going to be selling them before we all get ours but the explanation seems fair enough.

Im sure since they are the UK retailer they were probably allowed a certain number they could order so they can make the loyal Super-T UK customers happy. Lets just look at it as if they just bought a few at once and their friends are going to pay them back.

If you look at the big picture, everyone has waited the same amount of time. If anything the early people probably will end up technically waiting longer as now David has a routine in the prep work down and is doing it quicker and more efficiently and it will only get faster.

This is a good point. I've only had my order in since March. I'll probably get my ELA in a week or two I'm guessing. I bet the December orders wish they only had to wait 3 months. Now they probably only vaguely remember the wait, now that they can see and enjoy the results of their patience.

They ordered in Feb.......... I ordered my 1st one in April and should be getting it in a couple of weeks how can I feel wronged when alot of first batchers waited wayyyyy longer than I lol. David stated they would be sent in the order in which they were sold.... He's sticking to his word so you can't get after him as he has done nothing wrong.

Well, at least that helps explain the heretofore inexplicable delay in the final part of the first batch. Would have been nice to have known there was yet another "batch" en medias res, though informing the group of something like that may indeed have had some lighting their torches (not flashlights for those Brits).
Personally, I think the first batch individuals should have been taken care of first, slotting a vendor order in between the batches, but that's just my status of "near the end of batch 1" talking, and may not be fair if you consider said vendor in light of Ana's comments above.
