I wouldn't trade mine for a Caravela. JM22 clones are everywhere, and none employ the clever engineering of the ELA.

I doubt I'd even trade mine for a Shockwave, although the side-firing button and forever battery life might be nice. But I think I'll prefer the quick battery change and the adjustable center pin of the ELA. Plus the ELA is the sexiest mod I've ever seen in pics, and general consensus is that pics don't quite do it justice. I'll find out tomorrow for myself.
The Caravela is nice but I would never buy one.. I don't like mods that have anything etched or stamped on the tube. Take that .... ugly ship logo and writing off and I *might* consider one.

The ELA has seriously spoiled me. I used to lust over other telescopes, but after using this and feeling how study it is even fully extended in kicked 18650, I know I'd be let down by any other telescope out there. I do eventually want to get a top side button mech, like a tri-color custom dingo or maybe a poldiac, but that (poldiac) takes way to much effort to keep clean, plus it's a little pricy once you add up all the tubes and pants/shirts. And I'd certainly never trade my ELA for it! My only real unicorn ATM is a fully hybrid dna20 ELA!

I used to really like the Poldiac, but lately I look at it and it looks to busy. I know that it is a real beauty, like looking at a vintage european luxury car, but its high maintenance, just like a european car. ELA reminds me of those great race cars of the 60s, they were all about simple futuristic designs similar to art deco. Most art deco and cars from the 60s still look amazing and rarely dated.

Oh BTW , yesterday I got a package in from Amazon. I finally got myself a set of WIHA phillips and slotted screwdrivers for ELA. THe quality and finish are on par with Super-T.

If ELA was a car this would be something like these, just remembered the Gullwing was from 1954?

I have a friend who was going to sell me his Roller but he backed out so yesterday I ordered one direct from Atmizoo. I also ordered the rhodium plated spring and rhodium plated 510 connectors.

My ELA is still months away from getting into my grubby paws so I figured I snag a Roller up to help pass the time.. Plus with the looming vape apocalypse coming I figure it will never hurt to have a few extra pure mechanical devices laying around.

Having said that, and not having my ELA in hand, I still doubt there is anything I would trade it for..

If you can't find a Kayfun or Lite, I'm thinking the brushed finish of the Terminator-C will be pretty close to the ELA. I'll let you know in the next day or two.

I own both a Kayfun 3.1 Epsilon (new style brushed) finish and a Term-C. I prefer the Kayfun, but the Term-C is a very fine atty, 1/3 the cost, and readily available with no stalking from Stormy's Vapor Cellar.

The Russian will probably be trickling into Stormy's and various places in a month or so. That might be worth considering as well.

Another popular choice is the Ithaka (and its clone, the Hercules), which has a knurled ring very similar and very complimentary to the ELA's knurled ring. For looks, I think the Hercules would probably be the best compliment to the ELA, but I don't believe anyone has tried that particular combo yet. The Ithaka + ELA is an extremely sharp pairing, though.

This would be the one from the 60's

You got a pic of the new ones :)

Doesnt that pict of the the Ford GT40 from 1967? just still look amazing? It was Henry Fords collaboration with Britains answer to beating the Ferrari and Im sure a lot more reliable and less fiddly.

I decided to go with the ithaka. I have one already but I use it with my ggts. Ill just order another one from COV since they are still in stock.
