Wow! That sucks! Once mine made it to USPS, all went real quick. I actually received it a day early.

Maybe it's actually moving, and not showing. :(

Yeah, the heat and expanding battery simply push the telescope out. The ring doesn't tighten the telescope too tight to allow venting. In essence, the entire mod is one giant relief mechanism that yields to pressure, rather than remaining rigid and depending on vent holes.

Got a question....both in 18350 mode or 18500/18650 mode with the accent rings in use, it appears that the "vent" slot inherent to the tubes is obstructed.

Ergo, anybody have any idea how this dang thing vents in the event of battery failure?

Thanks
In 18350 mode even though the slot is obstructed, the sort of force needed to pop the tube out is small, much less than the "battery pipe bomb" scenario we all talk about. In fact when the lock ring is engaged you can pull it out bare handed if you want. In 18500 mode there is still plenty of venting underneath the accent ring.

I had my batteries vent twice, long story , really hot day......

I picked up the ELA and noticed that the whole unit had sort of loosened up at the ring, the accent ring and button, pretty much at all joints. So it did what it was designed to do if battery vented. No harm to ELA or my atomizer. I dont know if that day I was "kicking" it or not. Battery got disposed of. It showed some oddness to it. On the button top it looked as if it had rust where it had not before.

I also put my ELA in my PV holder in a hurried , distracted moment, forgetting the bottom was uneven it it sat in there firing for at least 45mins. It was hot, but nothing damaged nor melted not even an oring on my ELA or Odysseus.

Its really well designed and the safety features were well thought out without being obviously apparent.

Also, in the event where the accent ring is in place... it is alleged that the heat from the venting battery will burn right through the o-ring and allow gas to escape from the vent holes.

I grew up with a machine shop in my basement. I had many friends who owned machine shops. For a while, I owned a small machine shop. I have seen some fine machine work!

>>>>>>>The ELA .. She is beautiful!! Nice work!! And for those of us with a SS fetish .. Wow!

I don't have a total handle on using her yet, but she sure does look and feel good! :)

Pics! O.K.. I know they are not very good but ....

I did not include toes, but I threw my shoes into the pics. Does that work? :)

I consider myself a dripper, but this Kayfun Lite is kinda cool!
