Its hard to say, Mechanicals were around way before VV and VW. With the advances in rebuildable atomizers and peoples preferences in low resistance and VV and VW having limiits with the lower ohms brought everyone back to the mechanical devices. I think the future is having options.
The pros with mechs is that you cant really break it, no wires to break, no chips to burn out, you can drop it in water etc, break them down completely and with care and well made devices they should last forever with minimal care.
David mentioned a DNA /VW module for ELA which would give people the option to use a regulated option. I think the day of buying multiple devices for different needs at such high prices is slowing down. Spending good money on a device only to have it become obsolete in a few months by the modder and coming out with something better , new improved and not being able to get a simple upgrade for what one already has and paid a lot for is not good business.
With the Precise Plus it has been around for such a long long time with little change and bring out upgrade that could be added is and was great. Then we got ELA, with so much room for upgrades, accessories, very convertible. I see the ELA as something that can be upgraded , added on, but basically stay the same and not see it become "obsolete" , at least not in the very near future. I would love to see the Precise Plus come back with the same top cap and adjustable hybrid pin as ELA.
We shall see what the future brings us.
