Agreed. Super T is the Volvo of the mod world. Solid, dependable and good service. Take care of it and it will take care of you.

I tried to restrain myself from commenting but couldn't. "Volvo of the mod world"? Does Volvo have a lifetime warranty? Volvo is your common 'run of the mill' mod and Super-T is substantially above that mediocre ranking. We're talking Aston Martin for class, Tesla for technology and Bently for reliability - all rolled up into one. Please pic your metaphores more carefully! :)

E.T.A. none of the makes mentioned above are any more reliable than a plain old ford,GM(i can't believe I mentioned GM) or even a chrysler(I done it again)

Fixed the spelling, you think a Bentley = a Ford in reliability?

Yep,bentley and rolls royce are owned by volkswagon auto, mechanicals are built in germany(by VW) and shipped to the brits to finish,so they're no better than a bug.
And I have over 200,000 miles on my '97 truck and the motors never been opened.

I screwed up,its Aston,not Astin,I knew it didn't look right.

Reliability and desireablity are not the same thing.

200K-250K miles is the expected longevity of most cars produced today. Bently/Rolls-Royce really don't feed the used car market where that data came from because they are rare and owners are passing them down to their children and grandchildren :)

I had an '86' Nissan D21 Truck that had 375,000 ish miles on it when I sold it.. Motor had never been rebuilt and that Truck was a beast! Started instantly, idle was dead on and man that thing just ran and ran and ran..

... I take it back, Super T's are the classic VW Bug's of the mod world.

Super T's is rather broad, let's narrow that down a bit to the specific product this thread is about - the Precise ELA Telescoping mod. What auto do you think best represents the ELA as compared to all those other mods out there. Don't be bashful now lol.

All the recent talk of microcoils made me decide to give them another go. I really took my time, annealing the wire with a torch, wrapping around a precision torx bit; burning, squeezing with needle-nose pliers, burning, squeezing, burning until the glow was uniform; then lovingly cramming cotton through it. I'm running 10 wraps of 30 gauge, kick2 kicked at 11 watts, in a Kayfun.

Although the result is better this time than it was the last time I tried, I'm still not convinced that this is for me. The flavor is still not as rich for me as with a traditional coil of 34 gauge or .4 x .1mm ribbon.

But at least this time I don't hate it. Warmth, vapor, and throat hit are outstanding. I really dig that I'm getting an extremely satisfying snap-crackle-pop when I fire it up. And since I never dry burn my silica wick anyway, I'm thinking I might at least stick to using cotton for a while.

I'm on the fence. I'll have to see how long this build lasts before I need to replace the cotton.

Everyone, I think this whole car discussion is completely silly, irrelevant and pointless. Can we please stay on-topic and discuss serious ELA related issues? I don't have time to sift through this chatter about this and that car, blah blah blah.

Instead, let's focus on a truly important topic.

What 1980's rap group is most like the Precise ELA?

I don't think the Precise ELA equates well to rap groups in general, let alone '80s rap groups. I'm thinking more along the lines of country rock?

A Hummer H1

I would agree with that. My hummers are 1997 and 2000. They are still trucking away. I have done some serious mudding, driven them through the woods, had them totally under water(with the snorkel on), towed large loads, climbed mountains, driven through strong flood waters, driven physicians to the hospital during 'State Of Emergency' snow storm conditions, knocked down trees, pulled people out of ditches, etc. with them. I can flip switches to adjust my tire pressure to accommodate terrain conditions. They may be a bit tattered(like me), but they are still fully functioning(unlike me).

Not everyone appreciates their outer beauty, but everyone can appreciate what they can do well.

**If my Hummers were ELA's, I could send them to David, and he would shine them up for me! :)

Okay, ELA and Snoop? Maybe...... ELA is kinda like this piece of music, classic meets modern ( good ) rap?
PS. I didnt want anyone to think that I dont appreciate RAP. Like all genres of music, RAP is flooded with a LOT of mediocre "pop" rappers, putting out cRAP. I love music...... most......
