Pests as pets?I can get yall some pet roaches

O.K.. A quick pest/pet story. Let me preface this, with the fact that I tend to see things that others do not see. Therefore, my sanity has always been in question. In my old house, the tub/shower drain used to drain slow. A snake used to swim in the water and wrap around my ankles and then go back down the drain. I didn't care. He wasn't biting me. I kinda liked him. I warned my husband about the snake. He continued to laugh at me for quite some time. Discounting my word with 'Yea right .. she is seeing things again. Ha Ha'. One day I decided, enough is enough. I took a piece of rubber matting into the shower with me. I covered the hole before the snake could disappear down the drain. I had hubby come in and take the snake away. From then on, when he would discount things I would say I saw, I would say 'Remember the snake!'. :)

In case you're not aware, today is the last day to get a 20% discount on T-Tips with coupon code HALLOWEEN.
Sorry, Cucco, Tanbur still OOS.

:) I keep looking. But, if I fall in love with the Strata, my Tanburs will be put away. If I do fall in love with the Strata, I will be begging for a Strata Tanbur.

Cucco, next time you see a snake in the bath tub, the proper etiquette is to plug in a hair dryer and toss it in.

That would be mean. He didn't hurt me. I didn't have a problem with him there. Had a visitor every day. Just wanted to prove to hubby, that on this one, what I saw was real. :)

Call me "tree hugger" or "bleeding heart" but I could never smash or kill something harmless. A rattlesnake I could see killing if there was no other way or it was going to strike me or a loved one.

Its us that have invaded their home. I have never had that fear for most creatures, except for maggots and cockroaches. But even some cockroaches can be cool. I picked up one of those giant hissing ones at a store one day, just to get over the "hibbie jibbie" reaction towards them. It really was not so bad and it gave me a great respect to them. Gotta admire their evolution and survival.

It's not mean, it's simple mathematics:

Snake + outside the house = live snake*
Snake + inside the house = dead snake

*(unless you are in the Everglades and see a Boa Constrictor, then they are just pests endangering the natural wildlife so you should shoot them.)

Yes, those Boas and other non-natural snakes are taking over. Its all a result of a reptile facility that got destroyed during a tornado/hurricane and they escaped. No one really expected they would survive as the temps and environment was so different than where they came from.

SOme of those snakes are real aggressive and have even hybridized with other species, so its a bad situation.

Now if the ELA could be used as a snake charm.......

DOnt get much of the bugs we used to have , no June bugs this year at all. Last year it was just about 3? Usually June brings them by the hundreds, each year less and less. Even Bees are becoming less and less. Used to look forward to going outside and seeing Mantids, and jumping spiders and those great and beautiful garden spiders, but havnt seen any this year.

We are poisoning all are " allies ".

Okay, lets get back to ELA and did you all see the update on shipping? I hope it gets going faster or at least back to where it was. I love this thing.

Last night I replaced the oring that goes on the bottom of the tube near the bottom button. It is firing better. I think that when I had that 45 min firing incident that it might have done some harm that I didnt think of. I noticed I was having to push on the button much harder than usual. I took it apart and looked under my more powerful magnifying stand. I found that there was some crud on the contact piece and on that little black rod and ball bearing end.

I think that when I heated up it caused some tarnishing/build up. I carefully cleaned the contact pin on the button, though there is still some rusty coloured layer of crud and gently scraped off the crud on the black rod. I dont think I got it all but ELA is performing soooo much better. I think Im going to have to get some new contacts, top and bottom. I tried alcohol, boiling water and cant get it off.

One of these days, I need to take mine apart and clean her. Have not done it yet. Just vaping away!

Thats what hear from most people. I think its a couple things for my need to clean so often. Its my use of Odysseus, it takes in air thru the 510 connection vs the air intake on the base for the kayfun and similar design.

With the amount that I vape and the amount of vapor Odysseus makes there is a lot of condensation happening and back vapor going down the ELA top connection. I get a lot of juice build up on the top contact. With the Kayfun that doesnt happen, so that accounts for the lack of cleaning need.

My bottom button for some reason gets dirty fast and combined with the "cooking" it took when it fired for 45 mins or more. I think the natural crud baked and fused with the parts and my bottom oring got heated and expanded. My poor ELA has been through some freak incidents, mostly due to user awkwardness.
