What pAth77 means is that the Strata tip covers the cyclonic center bit, focusing the airflow. It also turns the top cap into a mini reservoir and discourages leaking out the mouthpiece when upside down. But the performance of the Strata is impressive with any drip tip, regardless.

At least I think that's what he would say if he could talk.

...unless David is considering a design change to move the vortex collar from the previously planned drip tip to the top cap instead? David did say that the inside shape of the cap would be rounded to better handle condensation, so the top cap is going through at least some changes from what we've seen in pictures. It doesn't seem to a layman that going one step further and constricting the inner chamber chimney around the vortex bit would be a very drastic change to the machining involved.

Then again, I know nothing about metal working aside from how to break drill bits.

Let me just say that I have 0 doubt that whatever I receive, however the design is finalized, it will be more efficient and clever than anything I can imagine now. I don't want my hopeful reading between lines which may or may not exist to be taken as armchair quarterbacking.

Cool. Thanks. That's what I was referring to, based on our previous discussions on the Strata thread. Would be a shame to lose the added benefits of the Strata tip. But, won't know for sure till it is in hand. I do love my Tanbur. Silly, but certain things in life just give you that warm and fuzzy. :)

I used to have a Tanbur but didnt use it much because I was using Odysseus before the mouthpiece for drip tips came out, plus I was using my Saber Touch and it was already sooooo long with a tank etc. Felt like Wizard using it.

Now with the ELA being so much more compact it would be something Id look into having again. I also had a cool ebony long tip that I gave away and now I miss it too.

I have so many tips I do not use!

Hello fellow ELA fans, I need to know something about the O-rings that came with the ELA. ( I really wish there would be an more indepth video on these things:)

There are 4 larger orings, are those for the bottom of the lower tube that cushions the battery? I would like to know what orings go where inside the top contacts.

I'd like to know the answer to this as well. I've been using it as it came out of the mail with no issues but if I am doing something wrong, I'd like to know.
