No, it's not a typo. I am still Pre-Provari. As I await shipment of my 2.5 full length, I have found myself almost exclusively roaming the Provari sub-forum, so I decided to build a home thread here.

THE BEGINNING:
Been a heavy smoker for 18 years. NewPort 100's..... 1.5 PAD with periods of 2 PAD. I have been known to chain through 10 cigs while working on my car, or 4-5 while enjoying a cup of coffee. I've tried numerous times to quit, patches, gum, etc. to no avail. I have quit other more immediate life threatening substances (drugs & alcohol), and while it wasn't easy, quitting an all day habit like cigarettes is a whole 'nother monster.

THE AWAKENING:
I starting experimenting with cig-a-likes and was surprised how satisfying it was, not to mention all the added bonuses like being able to do it virtually anywhere. I started with a Blu:facepalm:, then upgraded to V2cigs..... I had still not bothered with ECF and didn't have any vape friends to help me figure this world out. After about a week of experivaptation I stopped smoking cigarettes.:D The last few weeks I have been using a Smoktech Woo 5v eGo with Smoktech Pyrex DCT's.

The rest of the story is much like most of the new members, and then later, new Provari owners...... I went on a whirlwind of spending and device purchasing, joined ECF, kept hearing how proper the Provari is, (I am the biggest supporter of purchasing USA made products) and decided to stop "vaping around the bush" and ordered one.:headbang:

PREVARI:
I ordered the full length Bronze 2.5 w/green LED. And as I await arrival, I have gone on a shopping spree of accessories and goodies to enjoy customization and topper testing when it arrives. And this morning I just paced an order for a ........ 2nd Provari.

Here's the list (ordered):
Provari Bronze Full 2.5 w/green LED
Provape extension
Tatroe Base
Zen Atty Pro
Kir Fanis Brass Ring/Extension
Kir Fanis Prive Special
Loki Ring
Provari Satin Full 2.0 w/red LED

I can't thank ECF enough. I have researched everything I ordered before purchasing and I trust the reviews. This thread will be full of pics, and I welcome any questions or comments. And expect to see me questions from myself as well. Also I guess I should catalog my Juice favorites.

MY TOP JUICES (50/50 18mg) ATM:

ADV: TV Banana Cream Pie
2nd: TV Razberrt Zynger
3rd: VV Vanilla Blackberry Swirl

Last day of Smoking: 8/18/13

I'm Really stoked. I got my Pops coming over later today so I can PayItForward. He's been smoking for 40+ years, and I've captured his attention. He's a little stubborn with change so I'm gonna give him a nice long introduction on how to adjust to the vaping technique. I'm giving him my V2cig kit, with extra batteries and a 30ml of TV tobacco. If he can successfully get off the smokes, I have no problem filling his carts and supplying him with eJuice.

The V2 cig is on the right:

Nothing like starting out right... :) Go big, or go home... :D VERY nice selection of gear. I'm sure you will be VERY pleased with all of it. I'm looking forward to the pics.. :)

I had a V1 for over a year and a half before I recently gave it to my GF. Didn't even bother with the V2 upgrade. I traded a nice mech for a V2.5, found it could run my 1.0 ohm dual-coil @ 3.8v+, and was hooked all over again. I was really tired of the voltage drop of my mech mods, and lack of safety features. (unless I run a fuse, which I do) On a fresh battery, the 1.0 ohm dual coil in my mechs would immediately drop to 3.80-3.75v on the first button press, and slowly drop every hit. The ProVari kept it at the 3.8v I liked until the last hit. ;)

Interesting thing though.. At around 7 weeks of running the same two pieces of XC-116 ceramic wick and 2 2.0 ready-wires, (1.0 ohm dual-coil) I noticed my battery life seemed longer than normal.. I checked the resistance, and the ProVari read 2.0 ohms. One of the wires popped, and I really was surprised to find there was not much tell-tale difference in the vape. I rebuilt using two small pieces of the XC-116 side-by-side with one 2.2 ohm ready-wire wrapped around both. I'm still getting a great vape with the ProVari set @ 4.3v, and my battery life is MUCH better.

Anyway... I now have 2 V2.5's, and am seriously considering a polished Mini next. Mech mods have their place, but IMO, this is 2013. Safe, variable, regulated-voltage (and wattage) vaping is where it's at. The ProVari delivers that, customer support, and USA-made quality in spades.

Releaser of the KRAKEN
Ahhhh so it's like the killer.

The ZAP will be my first RBA. I'm not scurred though. I have a background in DIY electronics. How much different is coil building for a Diver or Killer RBA?

Phiniac Glass is one of the U.S. suppliers for the Atmistique Diver as well. (they are in stock, you would receive your item much sooner than ordering from Greece)

I hear the polished mini will be re-stocking soon. I'm torn between polished SS and a white one. There is always option C) buy both. LOL

Funny you mention that. I ordered some goodies from Kir Fanis (GR-Modders) on Saturday. Showed up today!!!! Less than 3 business days.

I didn't realize that the Provari Ring was offered in brass, so I ordered one the next day (will arrive tomorrow) as well as a Prive Special. But here's a pic of what came today.

Also thanks for the suggestion, I have been close to ordering a tank from Phiniac, and I'll be sure to get a Diver when I do.

Congrats! Go big or go home, that's the spirit :D. I don't have a lot of room to talk being an ex-Provari owner, but for the month I had it I can tell you it's the top dog of VV mods. I owned a VAMO and I could tell the difference by miles, not only in the build quality but the quality of the vape. Long story short, you can't go wrong with a Provari. And that brass ring is sexy!

I don't see mechs as something getting old/of the past. Rather, VV is becoming more standard, and mechs becoming the advanced side of vaping. After all the longest lasting mods will be a solid built mech. Miami is really behind so here an eGo is the standard, and VV/VW and mechs are used by about 5% of vapers, roll around with either a Provari or a nice mech and people WILL look at you lol.

I did say mechs have their place... ;) :) 2-3 years ago though, many of us were wanting to be rid of mechs like the plague.. The REO was (is) special because it's a high-quality built-like-a-tank mech bottom-feeder.

Yup I kinda didn't know what place you meant :D. Honestly I can't touch a VV/VW device anymore having experienced sub-ohms and up to 40 watts vape (I was experimenting to find my sweet spot so I ended up at 28 watts. Went as far as rebuilding the heads of the Vivi Novas and Protanks out of cotton at 1.0 ohms). But if they ever come out with a chip that caps at 30 watts, I'll be sure to grab the skeleton of a VV Grand and slap it in there :). After all, given the same wide options for resistances as you get in a mech but with the ability to regulate it to get a constant voltage would be pure epicness. (Not to mention the safety features).

I am going to commit to all things Provari for a bit as to not overwhelm myself. It's barely been 5 weeks of vapng for me and I've soaked up a whole lot of info, not to mention expelled a whole lot of greenbacks. I can definitely see the appeal of REOs though, and may one day dive into one to relive the joy of getting to know a new mod in & out.
