The gdeal dna mod is quite light weight and some attys make it a bit top heavy. Well I got a featherweight Nimbus here to try BF'd! It's a perfect weight!

A video of the conversion.

One of the best how to video I ever watched!
Precision work yet relaxing/soothing to watch.

Simply great! Especially "let the drill/hammer do the talking" bit. :toast:

That coil was the last bit of some twisted 34ga nickel from 2 lengths of 2 strands twisted and then both twisted. Nickel coils are pretty easy when wrapped around a screw that I remove after the coil is mounted and mostly positioned.

I'm actually liking the plastic cap! Doesn't get hot and man it's just so light. Maybe cut down the cap 1/4" someday to reduce that upper chamber. No clue what I'm doing ... but choices for bottom feeder attys are limited so it's a learn to turn as I go adventure.

I'm trying to get over the plastic thoughts ... sort of telling myself lots of bottles and atomizers are and have been plastic for years. This however was my first plastic cap RDA. Did I mention how light weight it is? LoL My first worry is that it would get hot but it doesn't ... surprised me because I can really cook and atty sometimes. I picked up a few other plastic cap RDA's the other day that I need to go look at and see what it will take to BF them.

I thought about modding one of those see through atty's for BF, but what worries me is the heat not the juice.

Most plastics will off-gas some pretty nasty stuff long before they get hot enough to melt, just saying.

I have seen enough pictures of the delrin melted on the plume veil. Delrin will off-gas some pretty hazardous stuff for a while before it gets to it's melting point.

I'm not trying to scare anyone, just saying to be aware of it.

Cool Breeze, I'm looking at one of those N22 attys right now ... hum... needs a different center post or some special side drilling. The copper contact on the center pin is a threaded screw that's not big enough to vent 1/16.

How about a slot cut in the center insulator...

Or here http://http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modder-accessories-supplier-forum/581604-catfish-atty-mods-527.html . The Christmas Blowout is still active, the list of available atties is on post #5269. Buy 1 get 1 half off or buy 2 get 1 free. I have one of Chowder's N22s, great flavor and respectable clouds. I've been liking it so much I haven't even built my nuppin' yet.:)

I have 2 catfish BF attys (2013 AFC Cyclone, and a Magma) and can vouch for his quality workmanship.

Here is a video I did on the cyclone that shows some closeups of the BF mods...

If the polishing process involves water (prolly does) I would imagine that these things soak it up like a sponge. If they just wiped the surface dry and packaged them without a certain amount of dry time I could imagine there could be moisture left inside the parts which would then come to the surface after being sealed.

Would definitely be cause for a pause when you open a sealed bag of wet parts though! Heh Weird one!
