What do you guys do to the internals, 1311 or just cerekote the whole thing?

The internals, I just used 1311. You can paint it lightly if you want to. No real need to cerakote it as that will just add unneeded cost to the project.

I do nothing, not really needed, seven months of constant daily use, no issues

Well it looks like my printed parts maybe here here tomorrow. Sculptio seems to be very fast at getting these turned round. Problem is, I ordered a polished grey model and originally planned to just seal it with 1311 (which I've had to order from the US and cost a fortune in postage). However, I'm now thinking that I fancy playing around with acryllic paints :)

So.. I got my 2 Pekos and tried my first build last night. Did mine first in case I screwed up before I did my lady's.
Glad I did because right off the bat I did a bonehead move! I put too much glue on the fire button so when I tried to put in the 4mm nut it wouldn't seat properly, then dried then was a mess trying to adjust. Finally got it adjusted and seated..so I thought! I put the rest the mod together with no problem. Got the 510 connection, rod, magnets, everything was all good...until I put the battery in. The fire pin was sitting too low. I managed to get the battery in with a mounted Nuppin' and it fired right up, problem was that I had a permanent connection. Something got messed up with the firing button, would not push up & down so basically it was stuck. I took the whole thing apart again and sure enough the nut that was glued inside the button came loose and nothing lined up right. By this time the inside of the button was a mess and unusable to try and reseat the nut and reglue. It was like when you were a little kid building plastic models and putting way to much glue on your parts! So next thing was I tried the short button and start over, that didn't work out either. The 4mm nut had so much dry glue in the threads that the screw would not screw in properly. I tried to force the screw in so it would grab but no success, the threads on both the nut an screw are now non functional! The rest of the build was easy but without these parts I'm screwed! I put the pieces away for now as I had to order another hardware set just to get that 1 screw & nut! :( Won't be here until next week.
So, tonight I'm going to give it another try with the lady's Peko. Lord help me if I screw this one up. I learned the hard way. Just a LITTLE bit of glue! If anyone out there has any other tips regarding the firing button/pin/spring build please let me know!

QUOTE=gdeal;15558905]I would highly recommend sealing the internals with Krylon after dry fitting all the parts. It takes two minutes per coat and you only need two or three coats. It will keep it nice and fresh :)

On super glue, I use the thicker version and use it very sparingly. With the thicker version you can place a small drop right where you want it to go and then spread it out with a tooth pick or paper clip. The thin stuff will just run to where ever it wants. Like up the thread of a nut...... :D

Just get some nail polish Remover and soak that nut. It will soften and eventually dissolve the super glue.

Mark Howard, you are on a roll....very cool surface finish.[/QUOTE

Just order another polished white to paint. It's cheaper.
You know your gonna end up doing it anyway.
I have a polished grey coming as well.
I would be interested in pics or how you think it looks.
Mine isn't due for 2 more weeks.

Yeah, as Dhaiken said, buy another! You will FOR SURE anyway. I started with 1, a week later ordered another print.. now, on monday I'll have 4 Pekos! And trust me I'll be getting plenty more. My last print (the 4th one coming monday) was ordered from "economy level" and I paid $45 shipped and it only took a week and a half to print and ship! The price can't get any better than that. Love me some Peko and Sculpteo is awesome!

Oh and can't forget the main man, GDeal, who created this all!

I have used Acetone on these parts & it softens the Super Glue enough to easily remove it. Soak it awhile & try the screw again. I believe nail polish remover is Acetone.

Thank you for the offer, I already ordered new kit. Should be here early next week. Good news is the second build went without a hitch! Lady is happy, :) I tried it out and love the feel in my hand. Nice size and contour. Held my Grand in the other, whoa... big difference in weight and comfort in hand. Can't wait to get mine built now!
