TX has lost a record of a really stupid thing I did when I was 19.... One of those not-well-thought-out impulse weddings. Worst 6 months of my life, and now I'm paying for it. Sigh!!

but getting a license here is fairly easy all you need is a birth certificate and a social security card, if you're a woman and married a copy of your marriage license, then pass their written test and driving test, which is done in a huge parking lot behind the DMV

I lived in Pasadena TX for a little over a year, but kept my MS tag and license, that way I didn't have to deal with their inspection sticker process.

That was easy in KS...lol..just went in with old license and copy of current marriage license, only had to do eye test. It's not good enough here, I have to start with birth certificate, and a marriage and divorce copy for every name change. lesson #2, if you're single and thinking of getting married, DO NOT change your name!!!

My after in law still lives in KS...we we trying to explain jumping through all these hoops, he said I should just use his address and just renew my license and title/registration there, and if I get stopped he in TX, just say I'm visiting...lol!!!

might work, I never got stopped when I was in TX, but that was my plan if I had gotten stopped. I was just there on a temporary job.

I drove with my GA license for 5 yrs in Cali (til they expired) went to the dmv here and didn't have to take the driving test, had to take the written test. It was easy out here if ya make an appointment you get done quicker

90 days? When I lived in California, they only gave you 10 days. Of course you won't get ticketed for it unless you get pulled over for something else.
