I hate the summertime pop up storms. Southern summers with the humidity is the worst.

I did basic in SAN Diego, MCT at Pendleton, MOS training in 29 palms. Then later on, my fire academy in San Angelo, TX.
Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.
My son followed almost the same path, except he was at the DLI for 18 months before 29 Palms. No fire academy, either. He is still in Japan. :)

My husband did his basic in SD, and was stationed at 29Palms for however long you guys consider a "tour" -- 18mo? Then he went to Hawaii; he mentioned something about Pendleton though, something about live fire exercises I think...? He loved that! He was in "materials mgmt" -- I don't know the official designation, but he's been a material handling guy ever since, but now instead of an office, he rides a forklift -- like he's Mario Andretti! You know how figure skaters can just wow you, with the intricate things they do on 2 blades, on ice? that's my husband on a forklift!

But you wanna see a metamorphosis, try this one: (in the more recent pic (2006), his hair was back in a ponytail, it's actually past his shoulders).

He looks about the same, 9 yrs later, just the beard a lil whiter and the hair a lil grayer... :D Still past his shoulders, though.

So cool. :) I thought for sure my dad would keep his hair regulation forever but nope. His is not past his shoulders by any means but it is definitely a lot longer than I ever thought he would wear it!

Okinawa. He has been there for over a year and will finish out his tour there most likely. I told him he had better come home when he is done!!! He loves it there. :)

He might decide to re-up and stay awhile. That's what happened to me. Then they made be go back but I never stayed log before getting back here.

I'm usually clean shaven..... But I've been too lazy, what with being so busy trying to get a house ready for MLS listing.... It just went on the market Monday.
This is my normal look....

That is GORGEOUS! I wish I'd thought of that as I've travelled through life!

Tis never too late to find many charms on ebay and etsy of the 'vintage' style (grin)... when we can't find what I want locally as we are visiting a place, I look once we're back on our lot in AZ and often they're less than $5 each.
Tis fun collecting them, I'd caution to put them on a temporary chain til you are done collecting, then transfer to a permanent chain (grin). Easier to move them around and put in the right order, etc. when adding a new one, etc.

I have another of just squished pennies from places that had those in a couple different designs. all copper, well, except for those after 1980 when zinc was used a lot in our pennies. Also have an older charm bracelet from my travels with 8 other gals bicycling through Europe in 1962, staying at Youth Hostels, and seeing the sights. So has been something I've done in the past, and a fun way to remember trips! (smaller than stove hood magnets, too! lol)

Oh, I would love to find one that color. Lol
I like the idea of heast control, I might have to put it on my Christmas list.
The invader mini comes in a green....I just didn't have that option, the place I won it from didn't carry that color.
These were my choices...i picked grey...sorta military like

But some places carry the green
