I prefer the simple approach to the contest. They revamped/remodeled the forum. They started a contest on the message count. They gave away free prizes (lots of them). You won or you didn't get picked (I vape, not smoke, therefore I won). ECF is about vapers helping vapers. It is nice to win but honestly it's nice watching the ones selected enjoy the FREE prizes. I know if not for ECF and the generous suppliers and members I could still be struggling to get off the cigs, and at a far greater expense. Thank you Smokey Joe and ECF.

On any given week on ECF there are between 20 and 30 different contests being run. Check here for some of them: Contests | E-Cigarette Forum

I would guess that the number that you are seeing refers to the ID number assigned to the post in the database. This is different than an actual post count, as IDs may not be assigned sequentially or may not have started at zero. Also, as you noted in a subsequent post, deleted posts are assigned IDs; depending on the how the software is written, draft posts could also be issued IDs--and then stored or not depending on whether the draft is actually posted.

Just thought it was cool. The IDs are definitely sequential, I'm pretty positive the difference is due to deleted posts since they are assigned a number as well. My best guess would be that it did start at 0 or 1 since theres really not that much of a gap. So the post I linked was the 15millionth including deleted posts. Just seemed like something someone might find interesting so I'd thought I'd share. Especially since I spent awhile looking for it and was lucky enough to find it haha.

If you're refering to my posts, like I said I'm not trying to discredit the winners of this contest at all. I think its awesome what this forum did and I'm happy for those that won! I missed all the action, but it seems like everyone had a lot of fun with this. And I would consider the 15,000,000th post according to the message count to be the true winner anyways, since that's the number we all see on the page. I was just curious on the differences between the site post numbers and the total message count so I decided to go on a scavenger hunt and stumbled on what the site labeled as 15mil. And figured I'd put in a suggestion to surprise /u/edyle with a prize if there was any extras. I'm in no way trying to argue winners I just found something I thought was cool and wanted to share, otherwise it'd just be another mundane post lost in the archives...

Gilly I am in no way pointing at you, it's been a combination of postings. I truly support the freedom of speech and opinion. In fact, Gilly.. If I were to make a pointed remark to you I would say "WELL DONE... I hope you're working in the IT field"! (I'm content with being able to wake up and type on my pc, occasionally fixing it when something breaks.) If we ever have an ECF scavenger hunt I want on your team.

Good deal, just making sure no one was misconstruing it as me arguing the True Born King to Sit on the Vaping Throne. Like I said I missed the contest entirely and I don't know who the user is who I linked to. I'm already happy with what I have and have been very blessed by members and vendors on this forum to be vaping on what I am now. Like I said, just found something cool and wanted to share. And not IT, engineering student, just had some coffee and went on a mission...

It's US 119 in Fayette Station WV, the New River Gorge Bridge. They whitewater raft under it.

Is that the Potomac or the Shenandoah River? I swear I've been tubing or kayaking under that bridge? Do you live there?

Edit: I'm dumb, I'm guessing its the New River..

That last statement is just too funny. You are now dubbed "The ECF Sleuth". I am always amazed at what fun I have here.
