He did explain it, just not in that post. The displayed post count does not include deleted posts, or posts from certain sub forums like the sandbox, I think the Lounge/Outside, etc. so the winner of the 15Mth post is not the 15M post that was ever entered in the database.

Exactly... The Lounge counts no posts toward those in the "message" count in the Forum Statistics box. It has (currently) 1,695,419 messages. Now some of those threads used to be part of the counted posts, so not all the 1.6M messages were not counted, but it likely is responsible for much of that 900,000 'gap'. People who post in some of the forums have been here longer than I have and have @ 2000 posts in their profile vs. 20K + in mine, but are also likely have many more actual posts than I have, although since I used to post there, I also have some 'missing'. :)

I fear I may have made a mistake you guys. I was one of the very lucky and very fortunate runner-ups that got to choose a prize. I tried to do as much research as I could do in the limited time I had that afternoon before picking my top 10 and I'm worried I may have chosen a prize that is way beyond my comfort and knowledge level. All of my instincts told me to choose the Cool Fire IV and MVP 2.0 camo kit, but all of those shiny beautiful mechanical mods tempted me. I ended up winning the Esterigon by GG, and for that I am extremely grateful! However after looking into it a bit, I am absolutely overwhelmed and really can't even afford all of the batteries, charger, ohm reader, supplies etc. I had a very hard time affording my little MVP 2 and nautilus Mini and finding a way to fit that into my weekly budget. I PM'd a couple mods, but I fear I'm going to have something that I am too afraid to even touch, let alone afford the thing to even get it going.

Sorry I just had to vent what was going on in my mind. Although I am extremely happy to have won anything at all, I just worry I may have made a mistake choosing something way beyond what I'm capable of safely using, and for that I am sad. Hopefully if no one picked the Coolfire IV they will allow me to swap out prizes, I'm not holding my breath though. I always do stupid things like this. :(

why not wait and see? ;) you might be pleasantly surprised with this mod! imeo's creations are well thought out and have plenty of loyal fans!

Thanks for the reply. I just figured I would be completely honest and say I am in over my head. Although I could easily learn how to use the device I'm sure, right now my main priority is just staying off of cigarettes, and a big part of that is having something easy to use. Today will be day 7!
Congrats on a week! Yes, for that mod you'll need good batteries, a charger, and at least a multimeter so you can check your battery voltage.

You guys are pretty convincing. I don't like sob stories or whatever but when say money is tight, money is tight as in I had to move back in with my parents and I have $22.00 in cash and a $30.00 amazon gift card to my name right now. Thankfully due to oddjobs and helping an old friend at their shop I will have a little bit of spending money this weekend.

How much would two good 18500 batts, a good safe charger, an ohm reader, wicking material and coil material run me? Just a guess? I see some of that is available on amazon but I worry about knockoffs.

I saw that but this is what SJ said: "As you know, the 15 millionth post was actually made some time ago, but due to post deletions, two software migrations, certain forums not counting etc etc."

Wow... Sorry for him. I can say I believe it. Does they have depression? If they need to share they can text me. Let me know. Sometimes it feels like no one understands. I get medical help from the state but that is it. If it wasn't for my honey, I would be homeless. Since I don't have child under 18 and I was born in the USA, they won't help me. Hate to say it but it's the truth. Let me know if they need someone to vent to. I understand and would love a new friend. Just hold my head up and take a day at a time. One day my ship will come in.lol

He has a close family that support him, right now he is really mad. He has tried to get disability for years and for some reason they wont give it to him. So when he did get help for 5 months or so he became dependent on it. So you can imagine how he feels now.

Can that mod take 18650 batteries? If so, shoot me a pm and I'll send a couple AW batteries, 28 gauge kanthal, and koh gen doh cotton for wicking. I don't have an extra charger and use my fluke meter for testing and can't part with that. Even if the batteries don't work then I can still send cotton and kanthal. It'd be a shame for that mod to go unused.

You mentioned some rebuildable supplies, do you have an RBA?

Batteries - 2 for $15-$20 (this is the one you don't want to skimp on)
Charger - nitecore i2 is $13 at amazon
ohm reader - $10-$20 but you can make due with a cheap multimeter from harbor freight if you're not planning to build really low. and you can use the MM to check battery voltage and resistance of coils.
kanthal - if you order from temco you can get 25ft for a few dollars
wick - a lot of people use cotton balls, they're cheap and easy. Japanese cotton can be had for about $10 or more.

@Utsuru - I have a mech mod now, and I run a Protank 2 on it. I don't have "killer" batteries, but for higher-ohmmed, lower-wattage vaping, I have no fear. (Healthy respect, but no fear.) You don't have to put an RDA/RTA on a mech if you don't want. Not sure I saw what you currently have, but pretty much any 510-threaded topper can work.

I have a Nitecore Intellicharger - I'm seeing them for about $12-13 on ebay. Don't buy batteries from Amazon or ebay. Lightningvapes has Sony VTC4s for about $10. They also have the Samsung 25R for $8. I believe both of those are good ones (and I believe I read somewhere that LightningVapes sells authentic VTC4s)

    ETA: Amazon.com: nitecore intellicharger i2

I believe you're referring to this:

    Congrats, V8inDma!!!

Oh, btwJoe, can you tell us what the number of the winning post was? ...just so we can put an end to roomed that have spread... :)

EDIT: ...roomed = rumors (dang that spell check thing!) I was on my iPhone...
@Chakris Not just now I can't - because I don't have access to it, but we'll explain what the process was when we've announced the runners up.

Essentially, there's no real way to tell which post was exactly the 15millionth, so we used a random process to choose the winner at the approximate time the 15millionth post was being made.

Pretty much the fairest way we could find to do it!

As you know, the 15 millionth post was actually made some time ago, but due to post deletions, two software migrations, certain forums not counting etc etc, we have 15m posts now that are in the database. It's all a little arbitrary, but all good fun, and it is still a landmark for our community.

That is incredibly, incredibly kind of you, I'm not sure if it takes 18650s I think it needs an extension tube or something, but anything at all is of a huge huge help, I will definitely be in touch with you, bless you! :)

Our ECF'ers never cease to amaze me. You're a wonderful person hittman.

This community has been so beneficial I can't even begin to describe how happy I've been to find it. Starting smoking has always been one of my biggest regrets and thanks to all you people I'm on my road to "recovery!"

Cost me 45$ for a nice digital readout charger, two authentic 35amp samsung hybrid batteries, 80 organic cotton balls, and 100ft of 26GA kanthal.

Hold on to it.... The thing about mechs, not much to go break in them, so you have a mod to last in case regulations go crazy on us.... You can use any 510 atomizer /tank you may already be using..... Fine tuning can come later

The Nauti Mini will be GRAND on that. Because there's no "regulation" you'll start your vape at about 4.1V Means you'll be drawing less than 3A which is a very modest draw. As your battery depletes its charge, you'll notice the vape get a little weaker. That will be a sign to consider recharging the battery.

Just be aware of "locking" the mod when you're not using it. Not to be scary, just making you aware. I'm kinda paranoid with my mech, and I lock it pretty much every time I set it down.

It looks like it takes 18490 batteries, but you can get various tubes (hopefully already provided) to use either 18350s or 18650s. Battery prices Lessifer and I mentioned are for 18650s :)

I looked up that mod and it said it can take the 18650 with the longer tube but I don't know if you are getting that or not. Anyway, my offer stands good if you need what I have. I've just never had a mod that takes 18500 batteries.
