Excellent!!!
Is your friend excited about tapping a ripe market, at say $10 a pop?
:)
I honestly don't know how the materials cost works out on something like this - but it's got to be less than the pro-rings sell for. And one he's got a "digital model" the labor is done.

Hahahaha. Rings being made soon. Soon as I have one ill photo it.

LOL to 15 cents.
The rings mostly are AROUND 6.4mm tall - Darkgear has exact heights for all the rings out there, about 6 pages back.
And on the two I have, the INSIDE tapers, to match the ProVari's top - so it's not just resting "on an edge".

PAGING DARKGEAR - can you help with Pro-Ring measurements??

He said material cost will be about .15 cents.

Can someone with calipers check my measurements? Ring height should be 7mm, outer body diameter should be 22.5mm, inner body diameter of 20.5 to allow for a 2mm thick ring?

You're about to find out why these things are $20. It's not as simple a making a ring. The cross section is not a simple right angle. Also, PLA is pretty brittle compared to Delrin and it doesn't have the heat deflection characteristics of Delrin. So if you heat up the atty quite a bit the PLA may deform.

Anyway, I'll take some measurements when I get home tonight. I'll even try to make you a cross section diagram. Good luck!

Well I got my new tank in from Vapor Labs, the Innovape M1 protank with attached beauty ring with air flow. It looks very sharp, end caps go on easily and the carto slides in perfectly! The airflow reminds me of my Zen carto tank (which I love) but always felt it needed more power or something... somehow gives a richer taste! As of right now very impressed, but unfortunately I dropped it on my floor, which is stained concrete and yep...uh huh...broke it! I am trying to find another tank in my arsenal that will fit it, if I find one I will take a pic for ya!

Ok finally got a pic to work and also received the end cap.

I refinished the satin silver color off my Russian 91 but the satin still had looked good with my provari and Loki ring

I thought the tank was plastic on the outside and glass on the inside?
