I am loving vaping, and I've gone from a minimum of 20 a day to a total of 50 analogs in the last 3 weeks which I am really pleased with. It seems to me that I get about 3 days without an analog, and then I get a massive urge to have one and end up buying 10, and smoking for a day and then feeling really annoyed at myself for that moment of weakness.

How do you deal with the urges to have a smoke? I'm currently looking into nicotine addiction from a scientific point of view too via the Nicotine area of the forum

What Nicotine amount does your e-cig juice/cartridges have currently in them? Maybe you have to up that amount a bit? For me I have not had any nicotine fits.. rather the "Nico-Demon" has not visited me since I started vaping - maybe he's just confused? I used to smoke a pack a day easy for the last 30 years. and I am on 16Mg of Nico on the e-cig.

There are around 4000 other chemicals in cigarettes that you could be addicted to. Nic, in an of itself, isn't any more addicting then cafeine. I will try to find the link to the answers here on ecf about this.

I had a tough time with this on first week or so of vaping. For me I realized that the "ritual" of smoking was part of my habit. The box of smokes, the lighter, going outside, lighting up. I just kept vaping and vaping till it went away. Took a week, maybe a week and a half and its not bad at all now. I still find myself heading outside to smoke (out of habit) but I just grab my pv and am fine now. My new ritual is filling, charging, etc.. :)

I'm using 11mg menthol prefilled cartridges and I have a few 24mg vanilla cartridges when I really need something more (stressful situations) and I can go days without even thinking about a smoke. But then a few days later it will be all I can think of. And it lasts for hours!

I try not to keep lighters with me, because that pretty much triggers a nic fit. And I keep my e-cig in an old cigarette box to keep try and keep some of the "ritual" there. I was just wondering if anyone had any coping techniques other than vaping your brains out

For me, the urge to smoke hit at two times: mornings, and during stressful phone calls. I chain vaped during those times, and after about a week those "nic fits" went away. Hang in there!

I must admit, the other day I had a huge craving and vaped about the same as a couple of cigarettes and the craving vanished. I do think that when I order my next batch of cartridges I will get higher nic cartridges.

No matter how I'm vaping with my regular 12mg juice, I have a little 24mg with me and a way to drip it. If I get a strong craving it's time to vape a little 24. In a few minutes I'm fine. I've never had to go more than 2 sets of 2 drops to get through it. It may be all psychological but, it's nice to have something to do about it isn't it?

I think it really depends on the person- I started vaping 36mg with high PG a few weeks ago and now it has killed my cravings for analogs entirely. A friend who still smokes analogs was hanging out with me and I gave her a carto filled with this kind of liquid and she couldn't believe that she wasn't craving a cig the entire evening!

I haven't smoked an analog since the day my kit arrived, and form me it was very easy to substitute the "vaping ritual" for the smoking ritual.

However, in trying to "convert" a couple of friends I have put some thought into it and my suggestion to them was to buy any supplies and gadgets that would make it as easy as possible to vape as opposed to smoking.

So I told them to buy not 1 but 2 pass-through (in case one breaks), to buy at least an extra battery, to get a mdel with larger batteries so they wouldn't be constantly recharging them and to get a good variety of liquids and as soon as they decided which they preferred to place an order for a larger bottle.

in the very first few days, between my learning curve and the kits not working reliably, it was a bit of a struggle but I was able to get over it and now I have acquired enough supplies and I have a good enough method that I don't see an eventuality where I would need to go buy smokes.
Once your vaping kit is error proof, if you still have the desire to smoke an analog, I would look at your kit again and see if maybe it's underpowered or you are not using it properly. For my money the throat hit and "smoking sensation" I get from vaping is equivalent to what I used to get from smokes.

But at first, some combination of Atty, liquid and battery power contributed to giving me a less than satisfactory feeling. I was determined to make it work because occasionally I got some good hits so I ordered a more powerful atty and larger batteries and now I get a good hit about 90% of the time.

So in your case it may be that your kit is not powerful enough for you in terms of throat hit and nicotine content.

in that case, I would buy something that delivers more punch and I would get juices with the highest nicotine content as well as the same juice without nicotine. That way maybe you can mix it yourself until you find the ideal mix without poisoning yourself.

Misterhyde, why are you sticking with prefilled cartridges? You can get such a better choice of flavours/strengths by buying e-liquid to refill them with - plus it works out so much cheaper.

My fave UK e-liquid supplier is Paradise vapes (but there are also so many other good UK juice/e-cig suppliers that I have bought from.)

I have tried buying liquids before, but it doesn't taste as good as the prefilled cartridges to me. I know it would save money, but I have learning difficulties and co-ordination problems, so using prefilled cartridges is the easiest method (apart from cartomizers) for me.

Not enough info. Maybe you have too weak a nicotine level for your habit. Maybe you have too weak an ecig for your habit. Maybe you are trying to vape foody/fruity flavors and are not ready for them. For the first 2 months I could not vape those without feeling like I had eaten and craving an analog.

Maybe if you are vaping tobacco flavor you have not found the ones with aromas that will make you go ahhhhhhh and feel sated and relaxed. And maybe your continued smoking of cigarettes is part of the problem because cigs contain 4000 chemicals, at least one of which makes nicotine MORE addictive.
