Project "Megladon" The Mega Coil

This was project Megladon. A coil made of 24awg Kanthal A1, I dont know how many wraps. Measured at .8ohm. It was just an experiment at first...

Some may have seen my threads on here about my troubles with getting good flavor from my RBAs. I didnt know what to expect with this coil. At first it wouldnt fire on my VVG so I put it on my old mech Grand.

Wire this thick was a little bit more difficult to work with, but once its set up, I see this thing lasting months. Its so robust, that I actually removed and reinstalled it a few times without deforming it at all.

How does it vape???

The short answer is simply amazing. After all of the troubles Ive had with flavor, this thing produces some good flavor! Im quite surprised.

You're vaping on a bedspring coil. Whatever works to get the flavor, right? Glad you didn't give up on the RM2... Congrats!

I used silica. Im thinking about making another one with more wraps to hopefully get it over 1 ohm so my VVG will be happy with it.

What size silica, Mike? How did you get it through the coil? Thx, reading up on coil building whilst waiting for my Reo.

I can get 2.5mm silica through a coil made on a 1/16" drill bit by wetting it with juice and twisting it tight, then turn it as you are pushing it through the coil so that it maintains the tightness.
