If you like the Protank 2 and you can accept a polycarbonate plastic tank, have a look at the Kamry X10. It's a 4ml capacity tank that takes the Kanger heads. It also pairs up great with 7/8" (22mm) tube mods. It has a metal sleeve around the plastic tank, with big viewing windows. Removable drip tip, too.

Another really nice BCC system is the SmokTech Aro. It's a slightly larger competitor to the Evod and pairs up nicely with Ego sized battery systems. The drip tip is not removable and it doesn't take the Kanger heads. But it vapes like a champ and looks good doing it.

I have two Protank 2's and one Protank 1. They've been outstanding performers, too.

All of my systems are BCC now. Not a single top coil or carto in sight.

I've been vaping exclusively on a Protank II for the last month (having been at it for around 2 months now). I can honestly say the protanks probably kept me away from the analogs, because my Vivi Nova annoyed me so much it was going to be hard to stick with it. Since I got my PTII, I have ordered a second one, and ended up tossing my Vivi Nova in disgust. I've tried the 2.5, 1.8 and 1.5 ohm heads, and I prefer the 1.8 @ 4.2 volts. Can't say I've ever experienced a metallic taste with either of mine.

They don't come with an adapter, but looking at the threading of the Ego-C, it looks like the interior threading is female 510:

The Protank will screw into the stem, rather than over it. As far as I know, some people then use a beauty ring to cover the exposed Ego threads on the outside, but that's purely for cosmetic purposes.

Forgive me, as I am a newb in the world of vaping. I was thinking of upgrading my eGo C-Twist 1100 mAh with a PT2 until I can afford to upgrade to a better mod as well. Will the PT2 fit on the eGo threads? I see they have male threads and didn't know if they came with an adapter or something.

Here's a thread with a really great chart on voltage and ohm resistance so you can get that juice vaping well: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/476066-same-juice-different-taste-why.html#post10877488

Here's the link for Vape Dojo, it seems to be the only place that actually has the replacement glass tubes in stock all the time: Kanger Pyrex Glass for Protank 2

I've watched a few videos on the of PT2 vs Davide, and the reviewers seem to give the PT2 the edge.............I've had 4 for almost 2 months, really love them!

Don't screw it together real tight, that goes for the tank and the coils.

It performs a lot better when the tank is 1/3 or more full, there's a vacuum that's created in it that decreases as your juice level goes down past 1/3.

Do not remove the silicone "cap" that is directly above the wicks, this will cause flooding/leaking.

Some PT2's have extra gaskets in the box......Note: "EXTRA", the PT2 already has the gaskets needed in place when you take it out of the box.

When you refill the tank, make sure you clean the post on the tank and battery, a minute amount of leaking can cause a coil to "read" wrong, ie, a 2.2 ohm coil might be recognized as a 2.5.

Just to add my $0.02: if you don't plan on getting into rebuilding the coils anytime soon (though you should cuz cotton wicks in the pt2 have been treating me VERY well) there is a simple improvement - pop the stem off the coil head, remove the silica flavor wicks, and replace with a thread or two from a piece of cotton yarn.
Peaches & creme cotton yarn can be purchased for less than $2 for a ....-ton. The yarn consists of 4 strands twisted together. Cut a piece just long enough to lay over the the wick and coil, separate the yarn, then put 1 or 2 on as your flavor wicks (1 for thicker liquids, 2 for thinner).
Very quick modification that greatly improve performance, flavor, and cloud density.

Hi CrazyPam,
lots of good advice on here so far, I have 5x Protank2's and have the same heads in them since 11August. In the tank packages was a leaflet from Kanger with a list of recommended voltage settings for different resistance heads. These differ from the usual recommended settings of 'coil resistance plus 2' as the voltage to set. It is my impression that many of the problems that some people have with these tanks are due to setting the voltage too high. If you used 'coil res plus 2' for your 2.4Ω head that would be 4.4volts. Kanger recommends 3.8volts.
1.7-1.9Ω - 3.1-3.3V
2.1-2.3Ω - 3.4-3.7V
2.4-2.6Ω - 3.8-4.1V
2.6-3.0Ω - 4.2-4.5V

Every 3 or 4 refills I wash them out including the heads and then strip down the head, remove the 2x 'flavour wicks' and dry burn the coil/wick, drip a drop of juice on the clean coil/wick, replace the flavour wicks and reassemble then good to go again.
"touches wood" no leaks, gurgles, dry hits etc.
Lots of good info on you-tube for this. Good luck and congrats on quitting !
