dang this is a long thread.. :O
What're you hitting the lemo at?Haven't noticed an weird flavor with the adv juice I've been vaping for 3 months. Res is stable. Hard to say whether the color is clearish or whitish....it's kind of both. Looks like teflon....kinda of a translucent pale white.
My problem with the submini has been juice delivery from the tank to the wick tails. Dry hitting at 20w. Dripping one drop of juice on each side of atty, not on but next to the wick tails, and all is good for 2 or 3 pulls at up to 30w. Same thing if I primer puff real hard a few times. So the wick seems to transport the juice from the tails to the coil just fine. Once vacuum is reestablished in the tank juice flow diminishes, wattage has to be reduced to 18-20w and I have pull pretty hard to stave off burny hits. As soon as I can hear the coil sizzling after a vape I know it's about the dry hit so....primer puff primer puff primer puff...and I'm back in business.
Will say this, got a replacement rba today and it performs a tiny bit better (23w) with the same build but still not up to my new found standards. Maybe my Lemo and Egrip w/rba just spoiled me.I mean, I used to be happy at 9w without dry hits.....but that's soooooo 2014

It's really easy to tell the bottom where it hits the 510 connection, if you can see the insulator, it's the old style, if it looks all metal because of the clear insulator then it's the new model. Perhaps a little Dremel to the channel is all you need.
Guess I'll order a lemo. I will say this, I LOVE the build deck/capture of the rba. it's brilliant. No need to wrap around the screw. It's def not clear. Hitting the Lemo at 25-30w with no dry hits.....ever. Don't have to pull near as hard either. Running the same twisted 30 builds in both.

addit: with the lemo, are you able to vape higher vg juices than 50/50 without dry hits? It just looks like a kayfun in terms of deck/build style, except with better airflow.

I really want a Lemo but I do not vape that high, mostly around 12 watts (2014 style)
I hear the Lemo is great for flavor and no leaks but is it as good at low watts like I vape?
Speaking of replacement grommets from Lightning Vapes, what is everyone's opinion between rubber or silicon? I know there was a mention somewhere here but can't seem to find it.

Thanks Katya. That's what I thought I read. Confirms I am not loosing it completely (??????).Kanger has switched to silicone, so all newer coil heads come with silicone insulators. I'm not sure what has been said in the thread, but rubber insulators were more prone to burning, especially with rebuilt coil (rebuilt using regular kanthal, not NR-R-NR wire which Kanger uses). Apparently, silicone handles hot legs better.
Link says that partucular one is discontinued, but I sure they can be had from one of the China sources.Have you considered a mini Erlkonigin clone from FT? Many MTL people love it. It's a bit tricky to wick, but once you've figured it out, it's really nice. And for 13 bucks, you really can't go wrong.

I don't know if anyone else has done this. Here are my findings on the stock 1.2 ohm coil.
1. 4 MM screw wrapped in threads is about the same Id as the stock coil.
2. Wire seems to be 28 gage with non-resistance legs.
3. 5/4 wrap. stock coil

Mac
Those numbers I gave were for a stock 1.2ohm head that I tore apart They were as close as I could get.
