Man... I am a bit worried now.. on the one hand i am glad everyone is coming up to defend the thing as at worst "ok" at best good to amazing mine should be here soon waiting it out

I got mine a couple of days ago and not had ANY problems with it. I absolutely love the thing. I really believe the OP simply got a bad one.

I think my biggest issue is I wanted a "plug and play" glass clearomizer. I don't want to wrap coils, I don't want to put an EVOD head on it, I don't want to worry about whether it's upright or not in my purse. I want something I can just fill up and be good to go - like, ummm...my CE3 XLs.

And I wonder if people in new members forum even try the product before they go recommending it to new users...

...says the guy who clearly hasn't bothered to search the new user forum, or any other for that matter. Give the search function a whirl. You'll discover that there's dozens of us singing the praises of the Protank and plenty of others who aren't quite as jazzed about it. Regardless of our enthusiasm (or lack thereof) for the Protank, we'd not recommend it to others without grounds for doing so.

I rebuilt mine with mesh right away. Had to sleeve the wick to prevent leakage, but its not leaking at all and weaking very well now.

What bugs me is how airy the draw is. I suppose i can draw slower to allow the wick to heat properly, but its a pain in the ..... I may try plugging a few air path or wrapping a sub ohm coil.

In another thread someone posted that there is a collar you can get that reduces the airflow. I am using the one that came with it on my ego-C batteries and not really having an airy draw problem.

Btw I ordered my Vamo this morning on your recommendation. Now if you will excuse me I am going to head out and stalk the wild mailbox some more. :)

Evod heads if you can't rebuild a Pro Tank atty.

If you can rebuild 3 mm cotton wick works excellent, 5/4 wrap of 32 gauge kanthal gets you about a 1.9 ohm coil.....no extra wick strands needed with 3 mm cotton.

Before someone asks. YOU CAN'T DRY BURN cotton wicks, true.

After 7-8 tank fillups I run hot top water on mine after I take it apart.

I then drop in into a Rubbermaid container full of 2/3 distilled water and 1/3 white vinegar. Let it sit an hour, take it out and lay it on a paper towel or a towel to air dry. Good as new.

I have the same issues with Protank. I don't know how to rebuild with a better wick. I'm not inclined mechanically or creatively. I'm back to using a stink old cartridge tiny tank thingy. Could some start a site offering rebuilt already assembled BETTER wicks/heads? Until then I've contacted the vendor and hunting for shops with genuine kanger heads.

Selling prebuilt heads... Thats an interesting idea.

Before i jump into business mode, i gotta say rebuilding is actually much easier than it sounds. But i suppose if you know nothing about physics it could be dangerous...

Myrany: the VAMO will not let you down. I dont use it as much any more as i have transitioned to mechs, but it is something that will always work solidly for you to fall back on, no matter what advanced "mods" you have moved up to.

Yeah I wanted something with built in protections before I started rebuilding my Protank heads so I was in the market for somehting better than my ego. Then I remembered I have hurricane season coming up real soon (down here that is no joke). I like the idea of being able to charge up half a dozen big batteries before the storm and being able to make it through a few days of power outage without panick. :)
