Protank works TOO well

Have been using carto tanks since the beginning, and have only had the Kanger Protank for a day. I have to say, the consistent clouds of vapor are amazing. Is it just me? I was fully expecting problems/tinkering after reading a lot of the posts on ECF. Instead, I've blown through a full tank and am only half way through the day!

Its a keeper and i even have to use teflon plumbing tape to stifle the draw and also vaping a juice now needs a long long draw to achieve throat hit and its up to it. I read on here they are coing out with a mini

That's a good suggestion, I have some plumbers tape too. I was hoping for a larger capacity one! Like 6ml or so. Or at least as big as it appears in PBusardo's video.

a day you say ..... wait till day 3 when it dont taste the same and every hit taste differant from the last ... then it will give you dry hits and then it will flood then dry hits then flood .... so you pull it apart and clean it put it back together and like new yaaaay !!!! then it dry hits again an hour later lol and dry hits again so you pull it apart and pull a wick praying it will help but nope... now it floods lol after tons of tinkering flipping gromits and pulling wicks and putting them back in and cleaning the head you finaly get it to vape ok so you say frig this and buy a new head cause you want those clouds of glorious vape again and bamb! new head in and its like new again atleast for 2 days or mabey 3 thn the same crap all over again lol

my wife was using 3 protanks and she swore by them for a whole 2 weeks then gave up and went to carto tanks because she does not want to deal with all the tinkering involved with owning a protank she used to love them now she despises all clearos and usses strictly carto tanks because there is no hastle involved fill the 6ml tank and vape for 2 days every hit is exactly the same as the last flavor and vapor wize and no leaking or flooding involved. shur she sacrafised a little flavor but in the end she gaind reliability... a system that works and works the same each and every time !

i took her protanks and tried useing them myself for 5 or 6 days and tossed them right in the vape draw lol lol lol !!! i dont even have to fiddle with my rba an rda as much as those retarted things !

if your into big flavor and big vapor clouds and dont mind puting a brand new head in every 2 or 3 days or washing and dry burning the one in there or flipping gromits and switching wicks then they are for you but for the price i would expect them to work good at least for more than 2 days before they screw up on you. i mean i spend less time fiddling with my AGI and it works forweeks after its set up lol

reading this thread made me want to go give em a try again ... ry4 and bannana cream 50/50 mixed in one and holy holy grail ry4 in another and strait banna cream in the last ... only the banna cream is hitting right and i dont expect that to last verry long becase the head in it is a 2 day old 1.8ohm the others were only used for 3-4 days before they were put away and they hit ok once or twice then the flavor changes to kinda perfumey and i can tell its about to flood 2 or 3 more puffs and yup i was right it flooded so now i got to pull the holy grail one apart run ithe head under water to wash it off cause i know for a fact its all gummed up and dry it off then dry burn it and put it back together after that it should vape good for the rest of the night. the monkey juice i made is hardly even hitting i know its tottaly gummed up and needs to be cleaned keep in mind the head is only 3-4 days old and hasnt been used that much lol god i hate these things !

i am useing 50/50 juice pg/vg 12 mg thease things should work better than this for the price you pay ! definatly do not chain vape on them, dry burn city !!!!

see the pv on the left ? you know what that set up is called ? ....... RELIABLE ! the mech mod will last forever i know i will still be able to puff of that when i am 50 and the carto tank never leaks never floods taste the same every puff and hits the same every puff at least until the carto burns out 2 weeks from now lol

the pv on the right yeh well its s great pv but i dont think it will last 3 years honestly and the protank looks nice and hits great, well for a day or two then so begins the tinkering and agrivation and just installing a new head every 3 days at 2.50$ a head lol W.T.F !

in the end all i want is a hastle free good vape on a device that will never fail me. the pv on the left is where you will end up some day soon though there may be a RBA or RDA on top most of the time you will always find yourself right back to the carto tank after trying out the next big thing and finding it doesnt work like you thought it would..... trust me lol.

wow.... where are you ordering your replacment heads ? i find your statement hard to believe i mean i cant chain vape any of mine for more than 4 min without a dry hit but i can chain vape my carto tanks for 4 hours untill i am nicotined out and dizzy . it is possable i just been getting junk heads or some knock offs ???and i am not bashing you or the protank or anything, but i have had noting but trouble from them and i even tried useing evod heads for a wile .

ohh and i forgot to mention... 3-4 out of 5 of the heads i order test way out of spec, come on 2.2 ohm for what is suposed to be a 1.8 ohm head realy ? i have bought 1.8 ohm heads that said 1.8 ohm right on them and metered out to 2.6 lol right out the box ! i have a 90$ meter too its no cheapy and this is acounting for the resistance from the meter wire itself ! i can take a brand new one apart and 1/2 the time the coil will be crooked or sinking in. QC issues. me and my wife are not the only ones ether her friend has all kinds of problems with hers too .
i can find a hundred post from people who buy new heads and rebuild them out the box. it should not be like that.

i am glad they are working for you and please link where you get your replacement heads i will give them a go again. mabey i am getting knock off heads somehow IDK ?

edit... waiting for kanger to come out with a pro carto tank... same shape and style as the pro tank but you insert a carto and screw the bottom on to lock it ... i would have 10 of them !

Kamry just released a Protank clone. New X9 rebuildable Tank atomizer Bottom coil atomiser system From Kamry Profession E-cigarette Manufacturer-kamrytech.com

I'm not sure how well it'll perform. Airflow could be an issue if flush-mounted, as there are no air channels on the bottom cap. I'm also not sure if the clone heads are compatible with a Protank.

You don't have to love the Protank. You're definitely not the only one who's had issues with it. I don't love the way it performs out of the box, but with some tinkering it works very well for me.

i will pick up a 5 pack from that website and see how well they work. Any suggestions on the ohm rating? I usuAlly get 1.8 ohm and they meter out all over the place some as high as 2.6!!!! Mabey if i order the 2.5s they will have better QC i hope. How many people have this issue and what ohm heads tend to be more precise? I have a mechanical mod and i like LR attys its a dissapointment when i order a 1.8 ohm head and it meters out to be 2.3 or 2.6 lol. I cant use it on my mechanical and get a good vape, so it goes to my wife to use as a backup on her twist when she runs out of cartos.

well i guess i am not that old ha ha. But i wasted my youth and i am playing the part of a kid now i guess. I am verry young minded you could say. You see i grew up on my own with no parents in a bad neighborhood. I lived in a house that was run down and full of kids lol all my friends of course, there were no rules or adults we were runaway kids in a broke down house in the point near soulth Boston. I have sever ADHD and was a wild kid lets just say lol. So for me to make it this far is a mirrical of god as almost all of those kids i lived with when i was a homeless runaway are ether dead or in jail now. Lagit almost al of them. Soooo, I pulled out a cotton ball and ripped a small piece off. Pulled both flavor wicks out and replaced with a piece of cotton about the size of both flavor wicks in width and length. I thought this thing had flavor and vapor production before! Holy Cows this thing got me buzzin on 2 pulls and no leaks, yet. Side note I did spread the cotton out to cover the whole hole of the inside of the head if that makes sense.

I will try this when it floods. I have some boiled cotton balls usp sitting around i use in my rba's. I used yarn before in them but not balls. The protank works great with a single 3.5 mm strand of yarn as a wick

First let me comment on this. I will tell you when u are getting old. When guys your age that play professional sports start to retire.
Then u go ummmmmm ok maybe. Then when the pro athletes start to look like your children. There is no doubt u have arrived lol.

I just bought a protank and I am in heaven. I bought it at the local vape store and got some clearomizers. I'm loving it thus far.
The taste is clean....

As far as I can tell they only have the 2.2ohm in stock. I thought Kanger Evod/Pro tank heads only came in 1.8 or 2.5ohm set ups. I looked at both of the boxes I received from them and they are marked 2.2ohms. I don't know the true resistance because I don't have an ohm meter so I can't tell you what the true ohms are. When I get my Tesla next week I'll check them and let you know.
