Has anyone thought of coating the mouthpiece yet? I really want one but I'm not a fan on metal tips. Suggestions?

Radio Shack or any home store should have electrical heat shrink. Get the clear plastic type rather than the black rubber type, cut it to fit over your tip and use a hair dryer to shrink it. I dont do this as I've adjusted to it, but its an option.

Its a keeper and i even have to use teflon plumbing tape to stifle the draw and also vaping a juice now needs a long long draw to achieve throat hit and its up to it. I read on here they are coing out with a mini

Yep, indeed! Just saw an ad here.

I, too, re wicked the heads I have. 32 gauge kanthal with a five over four wrap. 2.6 ohms resistance. I used worsted cotton yarn for the wick. Right now it's doubled over and pulled through the coil. No additional wick needed. This setup has stopped the " end of tank" flood. I've not had a dry hit. I do have good clouds of vapor that are consistent from tank start to finish.

My vamo at 3 watts/3.0 volts burned almost every stock wick. At first I thought it might be my DIY juice. Nope. Same juice in new setup is fabulous. I might be nuts, but I swear my juice tastes better.

I had a really easy time with the worsted cotton yarn. It seems to be perfect. Obviously, the yarn is no dye. I didn't boil it before using it. My wife provided it so it probably came from Walmart.

Questions? I'll help if I can.

I totally agree--been vaping for 2 1/2 years and going crazy trying to find the right system. These Kanger Pro Tanks ROCKS! My problem (and why I found this thread) is now finding the replacement heads in stock! Anyone know who has them? Seems everyone wants them and now the replacement heads/coils are getting hard to find! :2cool:

I got mine at Quantumvapor they seemed to have a pretty good supply and you must order in increments of 5. The price wasn't bad either, I didn't think. They've got a sale price on them right now too.

Is there a mistaken when you type this? 3w with 2.6ohms and have good cloud of vapor? You have to show us how you do this. I always have to set it between 8w to 9w on any resistant head, and still not very happy with the vapor production I have.

Rnln...

I just checked and my Vamo is indeed set on 3 Watts. I have the voltage at a high of 4.2 and a low of 3.3. The reading from my Vamo for the coil is 2.6 ohms. The reason for volt variance is the juice. Some I like hotter, some cooler.

My Vamo is using an 18650 lion battery.

Hope this helps.

Strange. I thought higher ohms, requires higher voltage. I am using 1.6 ohms now, and I have to have at least 6w to be able to get some vapor. I just tried 4w now and it went nowhere. It must be the fluid, as you said.

I may be wrong and I'm sure someone will point out if I am, but I thought the lower the ohms (resistance) the higher the voltage to get a good vape. Still experimenting. I have 2.2Ohm heads in my protank and get a perfect vape at 4.0v.

I think you're right on target. Lower resistance means more current flowing through the wire. If there is room for more current, then go ahead and put more through, right? Wattage describes the thickness of the current. Air goes through a tube easily, but not much comes through. Water through the same tube would be way denser than air, so more comes through. I think I might be describing amps here.

I am out of my depth, so will stop now. Off-topic anyway, maybe?

alright alright, it can go everywhere without or with too many solutions. Let me put the question this way.
VW + protank. What resistant and watage is best for vapor production? Thanks.

Frustrating, isn't it?

Start with low wattage and know you can increase voltage to generate heat to vaporize your liquid. 2.5 ohms resistance seems pretty standard. Go up to 4.2 volts to get heat.

Are you mixing your own juice? If you are, for more vapor increase VG percentage.

Well on a wattage device you could set it to about 7 or 7.5 watts then go up or down from there. I vape at around 8 to 9 watts on my tesla sometimes i go higher other times i go lower but once i set it I leave it... on a 2.5 ohm head im sittin at around 8.5 watts right now

this thread may help you some it helped me when i first got my tesla...

My protank happen to be on the Tesla too. The chart is showing around between 7w to 8w is safe but I found that 9.5 and 10w is good for me most of the time, but that mean I am taking risk. currently my protank is recoiled at 2ohms.

Does anyone compare carefully one by one between proximate 1.5 ohms and 2.x ohms, regarding vapor and battery life?

I can get a whole work day's vape (for me 10 hours) out of one AW IMR 18490 battery in a Provari set at 4.0v and a Protank with a 2.2ohm head. And that's taking a vape once every couple minutes. Like a fiend. :vapor:

I've tried higher than 4.0v, but was starting to get a burnt taste so I backed it down to 4.0 again.

Seems to be all over the map for folks. I am using a stock head on my protank - says 2.5 ohms on the head but reads 2.7 on the provari. i have the volts set at 4.0 which would be around 5.9 watts using 100% VG (Boba's) and no probs so far. I did not do anything (remove flavor wicks, re-wick etc) with the head.
