is there any way the BB might have a longer sleeve option so that we could use two protected cr123a batteries? This would make me the happiest nicotine user alive.

From looking at the pictures I think they would be to wide.... The BB is smaller in width and length than the SB... But I don't know.... I want to see how the Pass-through option will work... Any pictures of that?

here is a really good deal from ebay: 4pcs UltraFire CR2 3.0V Rechargeable Battery+Charger - eBay (item 300363674182 end time Nov-07-09 12:05:32 PST)

4 UltraFire CR2 rechargeable 800mAh bats and a 3v charger for $14.xx

I just ordered these a couple days ago- I guess to my future BB or to use in mods. I originally planned to order from DX- but if you look on the charger they don't ship out till Nov. 16th + the very very long wait it takes to get your order- I scratched that idea and went to ebay. If you do the math they end up being about the same price + you can use Bing Cash Back if anyone gets down with that (I do) + ebay bucks. its not much but why the hell not get some money back on thigs you were going to buy anyways?

Just to add to this, these particular CR2's from DX are actually LifePO4's. They don't market them as such, but that's what they are...

If ordering more than 3
Use discount code: BULKRATE

nice- damn I kinda wished I would have known that. If they are LiFePO4 than they don't need to be protected.

The ebay auction that I bought- it comes with 4 UltraFire green 3.0v 800mAh bats- they look exactly the same as those on DX- so these are LiFePO4 bats? I can't see the model # on my ebay order but if the model numbers match they are them right?

Well, I may have been a little preemptive with my claims that these are 100% for sure LifePO4 chemistry, but they do *appear* to be. Granted, I'm certainly no battery expert, but I know my way around. There is a lot of talk in general about these DX CR2's being LifePO safe chemistry as well...

Here is the information that I based my previous post on;

--------------

DealExtreme: Reviews for Rechargeable 3V CR2 800mAh Green 2 Packs

After running six cells through a battery analyzer I've come to the conclusion these are LiFePO4 cells. Their labeling (except for the "800mA"), green jacket, and the performance figures seem to verify this.

The six cells I purchased average just under 200mAh capacity @300mA drain. This would be inline with LiFePO4 cells in a CR2 package.

I've uploaded a graph for all cells (#'s 4 and 5 are represented here by their second run) and a graph of cell #5 after it's initial charge (5) and after it's second charge (5a).

The graphs for cell #'s 1,2,3 and 6 were done after the initial charge. Two of the cells (#'s 4 and 5), after the initial charge, appeared to be under performers. After a second charge they seemed to improve and were inline, more or less, with the other 4 cells.

That isn't what this thread is about. It's about protected CR2's, not unprotected. To some, spending $30 for the batts and charger with the assurance that they are LifePO4 with safe chemistry and not risking batteries possibly venting in your face is worth the money...

These certainly do seem to say Lithium ferrous phosphate. There's only 2 things I don't like about them. #1 I've never heard of the company(but I've never heard of alot of these Chinese battery companies either), more importantly #2, the website spec says 550mAh, but the side of the battery clearly states 280mAh(I would tend to believe the labeling on the battery). So that would be (running them in series) 6V a 280mAh. Regular stock Joye 510 batteries are 180mAh. It doesn't appear that these would last very long at all, at most maybe 2-1/2 to 3 hours.

Also, LiFePO4 are protected in the sense that they won't explode or catch fire if they're charged after being overdischarged(and the charger keeps them from being overcharged). But they still can't technically be overdischarged(i.e. it will ruin them if discharged below 2.2V, they won't recharge-although, as I said, they won't burn your house down if you attempt it)

CR2 Lithium Battery Charger

contacted them and they said they have 600mah cr2's that are protected. they have them specially made.

Nice find, though I'd be interested in shipping cost from the UK. Recently got a quote from a well known electronics vendor in the UK for a netbook (1.3kg...seriously...) for $170 USD. WTF? LOL.

Anyhow, like I said, good find...I'll have to E-mail them and ask for a total price with shipping included on 8-10 of these protected cells :p
