the 808's are tricky ...

We have a few 808 Adapters that have been cross hatched and we had a couple that were drilled (like an "L" that ends just above the step)

The Cross Hatched = Draw was a bit *tougher* than normal but still not too bad
Hole Drilled = A bit lighter than normal, sometimes need a primer ...

Do you guys like -- a bit tougher or a bit lighter ?

I think I prefer tougher. The adaptor I bought from altsmoke.com to fit the 510 -> 808 draws way too light, feels like you are sucking through a straw. By tougher do you mean tougher than an Ace? I want it to be as much like smoking as possible (I've gone 4 days so far on my 3rd attempt to vape instead of smoke and haven't looked back with my protege and 510 dripping). I got my wife a Vapor King and the draw is still a little light for me but not that horrible. It seems like tougher would give you that pressure for the slow and low that gives you the nice thick vape. But that's just me. ;-)

I've been cross hashing my 901's for the KR808, one grove across the center conductor, then extend down both sides of the threads. Just spent 5 min doing this to my 901 passthru adapter that I received today. The draw is a little stiff I thought, but then compared it to a V4L passthru, and a couple batteries. Really close to a factory adapter! Need to order a new Prodigy 901 while PS still has them, made the groves a little too deep and ended up with too light a draw.

Sorry about the quality, but best I can get with my iPhone.

I used a dremel cutting disk to make the cross cut across the top, and a diamond grinding tool to make the side cuts. After seeing the picture decided I needed to do a better cleaning:).

Neko.... How do you clean out a carto properly? Everclear
and .... where did that Avatar come from? Somehow it looks familiar.

>

I usually just soak them in warm water for 20 min, then blow them out. I've used Everclear to clean a cart that had gotten really bad, just don't soak to long! Over night and the label starts coming loose.

I actually made my avatar from an image I found on deviantART, and little work in PhotoShop. Working on a new one in Poser right now.

Same here on the adapter from AltSmoke, way too light.

A slightly too stiff draw is much better than a slightly too airy one - at least you get some nice warm vapor without all that effort.

Either way, a slot across the top is a must.

ok, i just wasnt sure if i could do this or not, i figured since the cartomizer works with the adapter that it should be ok, so if your using it and its ok then ill continue as well.

so now my ps pt does all 4 atomizers and im just beyond happy. also at 5volts cartomizers rock hard.

as i mentioned i junked everything else into my drawer, i found what ill be using from now on, the kr808 for when i drive and the ps pt at home, i dont need nothing else ever again.

Haven't packed my 901's or 510's away with the 801's yet. Cartomizers are great, but have some home made juice that is just to thick to work in them, but is to good to waste. Great for dripping, lousy for cartomizers.

I've tried about 10 different carts on my modded 901 adapter on my passthru, all but 2 have a really nice draw. Going to find my jewelers files this weekend and fine tune it a bit. These same carts hit kinda stiff on a KR battery as well, so not to far off I think. Gotta order another 901 adapter for my Protege now:D, but think I'll wait till Steve has his 808 version ready.
