Hey Guys ...
Sorry I have been away from ECF for a bit. We are developing our own Forum/Blog/News website, and it takes quite a bit of time to get it going ...
Anyways ... on to Protege V1.1 News ...
Changes/Upgrades From the Protege V1 to the Protege V1.1:
1) Stainless Steel Contact Posts (Instead of Aluminum)
2) Completely Round Contact Posts (Instead Of A Flat Being Machined)
3) Stainless Steel Button and Button Housing (Instead of Delrin/Plastic)
4) New (2) Piece Button Design (Top Cap is what is Stainless Steel)
5) New (3) Piece Stainless Adapter (Instead of old 4 piece)
6) Adapters will be completely stainless steel (No Brass)
7) Larger Thread Pitch on End Cap
8) Switch housing is now trapped instead of free floating, to keep housing from tucking/throwing switch off center.
9) Switch alignment issues have now been fixed by going with #4 & #8.
10) Contact disk is now going through a (2) step process - Machined even thinner - with 100% true flat side
11) There will be 3 different finish options: (See Below For Options)
A) Standard Satin Finish
B) Sand Blasted Finish
C) ECA's Diamond Holographic Finish
Summary: Switch Refinement -- No Longer has "Cheap Looking Plastic" switch -- We will Only be utilizing Stainless Steel 303/304 with Delrin being the insulator (No More Brass or Aluminum -- Both of which tarnish and oxidize quite quickly) Only *other* material utilized is Copper - And that is on the contact disk.
