For existing XPV users: How do you keep the plastic covering the screen clean? Mine already has some dust building up on it. Would like to maintain it/keep it nice and shiny clear without scratching it. I'm thinking some of my plastic polish (Plexus) on it with a cotton swab.

Just did this. A cotton swab and WATER only. Nice and pretty. I'm cautious and reluctant to use anything else since it's plastic and since it's recessed which is a very good thing far more unlikely to ever get scratched or nicked.

HTH

What SeniorBoy says is probably the prudent choice... that being said I love plexus and have done exactly that, cotton q-tip, carefully and painstakingly:D

(The New 40D has the Gray trim) Satin black with light gray trim and black clicky. Both black and standard satin Russians go great on the new 40!

Running a Magma 30g twisted two strands(single coil) wrapped on a nail to 0.17ohms running at 440F 14w working great for me!

I'm curious: What kind of atty are you using and how much juice do you go through?

lately its a plume veil. i really dont measure my juice consumption since i refill an old bottle from my bulk bottle of thug juice most of the time and dont care to even take a look at it. I am running it at 40 watts always, although w/ temp control its not always pushing all of the 40.

with a kayfun i'd get through the whole day.

so should we torch ni 200? I have heard mixed responses.

I've tried torching it without "browning" it. I can successfully do this with my little pen torch. I can't say that it helps to tighten up the coils though... it just doesn't get hot enough. I've since tried to build the Ni200 coils as closely as possible with a homemade jig... that seems to be the best I can do at this point. It looks like a really nice/tight micro-coil from 2-3 feet away, but a close look shows some small gaps. Regardless; the coil performs very good. :D

I went ahead and used some Plexus (LOVE that stuff too!) with a cotton Q-tip. Worked perfectly. :D Hoping the Plexus polish will do what it does with everything else I use it on - repel dust and protect the plastic.

So, I missed my dual coils and after snapping off Nickel twice while tightening my Orchid screws...I decided to give it a spin with straight Kanthal. I am vaping a 0.85 dual coil Kanthal build at 20 watts at the moment and fogging up my space...LOL...THE XPV ROCKS!!!!!

why are you missing dual coils? i've only built duals with the ni200

Well the orchid is apparently not suitable as the drilled posts snap the nickel...I got sick of trying. When I finish the liquid on my fogger, I'll try that.

(sent from Mars, it's not as red as I imagined.)

All 3 of my orchids run just fine with 30 ga ni200... Just don't over tighten

Well no doubt you are all better builders than I....only started building a couple of months ago....don't make me feel dumb by saying how easy it is for you....give me some tips.

Unless I tightened, the ohms were hopping....

Just so you can see that I am not an idiot...here are some of my Kanthal builds....

I find Nickel to be a PITA...floppy, won't sit still. I am using 30g attempting the duals...

Kanthal builds:

They look great... I build horizontal.. As far as tightness , I screw down until the wire pitches up about 1.5 cm then see if the wire moves... 30ga 20 wraps touching around a 2mm bit reaches almost end to end.... Then centering it with tweezers...

Ohms read 0.11

Great vape!

I was using a one eighth...macro....fifteen wraps...but the wire was moving, so I kept tightening....maybe I should take a diamond burr and smooth the post screw bottoms...kanthal doesn't seem to mind but.....

Also I have been pulse firing and pinching, maybe I should quit doing that...

The wires are snapping before I fire though.

Oh, it's not about the 'plugging into your computer/wall' thingy - I just like to carry two spare batteries - swap the depleted one with a fresh new. It feels more convenient to me.
Gotta agree with Qorax on that. Swappable batteries are nice to have. Most of the time, I'm somewhere near a charger, but not always. I'm in the Army, and there are times when swappable batteries are almost a must, particularly airborne ops. When doing a jump, I know I'll be living out of my pockets and rucksack for at least 12 hours.

Of course, I could always throw an external USB battery in my rucksack, but taking a couple charged 18650s is more convenient for me.

BOOM!
