I've heard of people just using random micro usb chargers(like cell phone chargers) and always wondered if the charge capacity could damage the mod(s)

I've been charging my XPV 30D with just about any micro USB charger I can find for about 6 months now and I haven't had a problem.

Been using my XPV DNA30-D for about five and a half to six months now and I must say it's an absolute workhorse. Perfect form factor, durable, long lasting, beautiful...I love it. I recently sent it it in to get the original 510 replaced with the "new" one as well as an upgrade to the dna 40. Can't wait to report back on how it works!

Order #1274 ordered early Friday morn. 10/24. Got my shipping notification! and my XPV 40s left Honolulu early this morning (EST) CANT WAIT:vapor:

I ordered mine on 10/14 with order number 1212 and natch I have it. Their is something "old School" when you roughly only build 50 or so mods in 10 days. Yea I know could be other stuff but really! I like this very very very much. In an age when they push crapola out the door by the hundreds/thousands we have a vendor who apparently enjoys flying under the radar and custom builds every xpv 40 per the order.

Lets not tell anyone. /lol Your going to love it!

Definitely proud of this mod already, and don't even have it yet. Looking forward to tomorrow... a cold and windy weekend is forecast, I've got a free and clear weekend consisting of football and vaping stuffs. I love new toys!! :D Can't wait to tinker with the Ni200 stuff.

You will love it...study, beautiful and well built...I have not had a lick of trouble with it. :)

ok so i may be a little rough on my mods, the Provari has stood the test of time and table height. I'm hoping this should do the same. I'm on the fence about cancelling a preorder (which will go unnamed) and jumping on board here. Maybe some a few more good responses will push me over the edge.

Definitely rugged...we'll see if it is Provari tough but I have reasonable certainty that it will pass the test.

I am unfamiliar with the scroll wheel, I'm sure there is a way to set temp and watts but can anyone fill me in on how?
It's similar to a scroll wheel on a mouse except it's a nudge not a scroll. Nudge it to the right for Up, left for Down and if you press it straight down it activates both Up and Down. Easy to use, seems very sturdy and is also unobtrusive.

OK. You asked for it!!!! /lol :)

NO Mod is perfect. ALL mods represent a compromise. I have a collection! /lol I am not a fan boy! I have had my xpv 40 about 10 days and have never owned a protovapor mod before.

Pluses

Well built
Built to order
They FIX them
They UPGRADE them
They appear to use them. See: Technical: DNA-40D & temperature protection | Protovapor.com
They prefer to fly under the radar. NO free units to reviewers aka "shills" :)
Screen is on the side of the mod mid way so it's easy to see AND you will need it to fine tune
510 looks beefy and well designed. Juice leaks just sit around it and don't flow down the side of the mod
The extra cost stand makes it a nice and sturdy man cave mod
No rattles
No blems on the aluminum housing
Appears to be a "function" over "form" build since it has an industrial feel to it. Pretty is nice but if it don't work who cares
They have experience with Evolv boards since they sell a 30 and upgrade same to a 40. As opposed to suddenly appearing from God knows where and entering the market. Assume the DNA 50 and it's a safe bet they will upgrade your 40.
Huge selection of color options
Fire button which is often a fail point on mods given it's use. Looks very well constructed and beefy. I ignore the blurb about space.
The screen is NOT crooked and looks properly aligned
The mini USB port is properly aligned and sits where it is supposed to as opposed to off center aka funky alignment
EDIT: Pocket clip option
Very reasonably priced. Think bang for the buck!

Minuses and not necessarily for me but could be for others

Square form factor
Not a box mod
Some folks don't like to wait roughly 10 days for a Mod in hand. They lust for near instant gratification.
Not pocket friendly compared to say a REO Mini or a Vapor Shark
Bat is user replaceable but needs a wiring harness soldered to the bat and the mod must be taken apart to install same. They were trying to avoid a saggy spring or "clips" that fail or get weaker. NOTE: they will install for free or you can send them your fav bat and they will due the dirty work. Order an extra bat with harness from them. Mine came with xpv5.
May not be as cool looking as my ProVari and may not last as long but that takes years to determine
Atty does not sit flush and their is a reason for that. Screws and function over form
Concern over the "rocker" weal thingy. ALL functions of the 40 are supported. It actually works great and I love it. Others might let this scare them away since it's an unusual implementation

These are MY views and others may have different views. They might even wish to pound me into the ground /lol but that is the nature of evaluating a mod. As a point of reference YOU should also read the threads on ECF about the Flask, Hana, and VS40 to arrive at an informed decision. If YOU see more pluses than minuses then go for it. I'm a happy camper.

To me the clip makes it pocket friendly. But very well said.

@midnight - Congrats and you will soon be a certified member of the "tribe" We want pics from you! Make sure you ordered extras as they also take the same time frame to ship. Black screws for the top in case you don't like the silver ones. Man cave stands. You got the clip which does work well for some. Extra bat soldered. Get your Ni200 in 100 foot spools. Try 30 gauge and 28 gauge. They include 10 feet for free. Start practicing and have fun!

And for anyone else who might need a size comparison. Note my xpv 40 has the beefiest man cave stand installed in the following pic.
