So I took my mod apart in order to unplug the battery so that it would cycle and reboot. It seemed to work and now the ohm meter works again. Obviously this wasn't protovapors fault, it was just something with the board. I took pics for you guys!

No, I never took off the caps. I just unplugged the wiring and then plugged it back in. I'm not so certain there's anything soldered to the battery. It looks like there's caps they made with wire soldered to it and then they were just taped on to the battery. Could be wrong though

Thanks for taking the photos -- always interesting to see what's on the inside!

Having the DNA20 go brain dead happens every now and again. So far it's not happened with my XPVs, but it does happen on occasion with a Mamu mod. The other way to cure it is to let the battery run down so it is completely discharged. That will "reboot" the chip just as if the battery were removed.

Wish the DNA came with a reset button for internal battery mods.

I thought about that, and was trying to kill the battery all day, but got impatient lol. Yeah, I wish they had that too. Or just an on/off switch. Always thought that was weird.

So, I just got word that the DNA30 models are slightly delayed due to Protovapor's shipper "royally screwing" them. I was about to put an order in, but I think I might wait. Why? Only because it's been revealed that the DNA30 chip has slightly different dimensions than the DNA20, which may cause complications down the road. Here's to hoping it doesn't.

::EDIT::

Protovapor got back to me saying they have had a working DNA30 prototype for a while and that there are no worries on the internal dimensions and problems!! My order is placed! Now let's hope that shipment magically becomes expedited across the sea!!

The ZNA is having problems too. Something to do with the new chip having the switch be off by like less than a mm

Probably my favorite thing about the XPV is that it does not use ANY of the DNA's on board switches, that enhances the reliability tremendously.

Those little micro switches cant hold a candle to the big massive fire switch and rocker when it comes to reliability.

(also makes future upgrades easier)

It seems the DNA 20 has a firmware bug of some sort that causes it to display a constant ohm reading no matter what the resistance of your topper really is. Most often, it will be 0.0 ohms, but apparently other values are possible. This has happened once my Vaporshark DNA and guess what my Protovapor is currently showing? Yep: 0.0 ohms. It vapes just fine anyway.

When it happened on my Vaporshark, I googled a bit and found a recommendation to vape it until it refused to fire, then re-charge it. Well, that didn't work, so I e-mailed Evolv. Brandon's responded within a day or so and his recommendation was to vape it until it refuses to fire, then either hold or repeatedly press the fire button until the display blanks out completely (which may take a few minutes). That did work.

Of course that's easier to do with a 1200 mAh battery than a 2900 mAh battery. ;)
