So first days use in anger.

Not anger really lol

If you are considering the Mini as your all day driver I would suggest that this is done only if you have ready access to a phone charger. There is no way the 18350 device has enough to last me a day without charging. To be honest when not vaping it is on the charger. This is not a bad thing just wouldn't expect it to last a day at work.

I knew this was a probability as when using a mech in 18350 I have to take 3 batterys with me at least. Have a phone charger on my desk at work so all good.

Yea I certainly couldn't get through a whole day with only one 18350.

I usually like to carry two devices with me through the day, one big tank of a battery, and one small more stealthy setup.

That way I am covered if one dies, covered if one runs out of liquid, covered if I need low profile vape, and have two different attys to vape on if I am in a chain vape mood, plus if I want I can run a couple flavors. Anymore then two devices in my pocket feels excessive.

1.....hour.......left........

Initial impressions; wow this thing is alot smaller feeling then I was expecting, feels super solid, tho very light at same time, I think a KFL weighs more then this whole unit.

Really like how it feels in hand, all around build quality seems very rugged and nice.

I assumed from pics that the "trim" that has the logo was a rubbery material, it is actually a heavy duty hard industrial plastic of some kind.

Glad to see the DNA20 screen is protected behind a clear piece of plexi.

More to come :)

I always carry a couple for the same reasons.

Have to admit am enjoying this DNA experience.

Since my Darwin has been outta commission, I have been using an MVP2, and some eGo's etc...

I forgot just how good a proper, high quality VW experience is.

Variable voltage only simply doesn't compare to a real VW experience like EVOLV gear produces, forget about the shoddy crap VW in the MVP and similar cheap VW stuff, that is worse off then VV.

High quality variable wattage that is constantly measuring atty resistance during firing and adjusting voltage at the output as needed, is simply the smoothest vape you can have, period.

It's not just about the ease of setting it and forgetting it.

I have only had this thing for a couple hours, and I am already planning my next DNA20 purchase, I want my two pocket units to both be DNA20's its just that good.

Now to decide between the XPV Mini, or a VaporShark DNA....

Wow, thanks for the pics Jameth. It looks very cool. I cannot wait until mine arrives. I am already planning on a second one.

As much as I like my Silver Bullets I have been having periodic carto troubles lately. Really putting me off. I come home and drip on my budget box DNA and am in heaven. It is too fragile though to carry at all times given that it is a plastic case but I love the twin 2000mah or twin 3100mah battery life I get out of it. Actually dripped on the DNA all day today and think I will continue to do so at work until my protovapor arrives.

I hate to say it but the Silver Bullets might just collect dust.

Congrats guys on your arriving. Hopefully I will be next on posting some pics.

LOL there are some thick clouds hovering in my office today!

The build in my Fogger really shines with 11+ watts :)

Certainly lives up to its name...

What build are you using in your Fogger? I picked one up a couple of weeks ago on a sale for $24, but have not been able to find the time to fiddle with it yet. I was thinking micro coil with cotton, since that's working so well in my 91%.

Had a chuckle when I saw in a later post that you're debating between a mini XPV and a Vapor Shark -- that's been running through my head as well. Then again, the ZNA is supposed to be out at the end of the month....

That square/round black piece that we can see in this picture... is that for use incase one wished to remove the belt clip? Also... Has anyone ripped one of these bad boys apart yet to see the innards? Battery mounting/wiring quality/neatness etc?

My fogger build is a 2.9 ohm, 30 guage Kanthal, about 2.5 mm inside diamter, 1.5mm Ecowool (closer to 3mm in regular silica), about 2 MM or wick sticking out either side of the wick channels in the chimney, one piece of Ecowool draped over the top of the coil and pushed down into the cup to pick up any excess liquid, put the chimney on, then stuff the 2 MM of wick that is comming out the channels back into the chimney so that almost none is sticking out at all.

It is working super well, coil is constantly soaked, chain vape for long time before even a hint of dryness.

The Fogger can work super super well, but it can be a bit tricky to get just the right amount of wick blocking up the channels.

I tried cotton once, on a KFL, it tasted like moldy wet socks / mushrooms, for a full day, I took that crap out and redid with ecowool and have had great results.

I used ear swab cotton, un boiled, and who knows how old, so I am sure that is why I had bad results, but in the end I like the durability of ecowool/silica, and have never really felt that I could "taste" the silica.

Correct, that is the spacer that you would put in place of the belt clip.

I may take off my belt clip today and take a peak inside, if I do, there will be pics for sure.

So here is my thoughts after some more time with the XPV.

Loving it, love the size, love the shape, love the very ruggedness that it exudes.

The button is interesting, its like a squishy/clicky button, has a nice feel to it, has a lot of throw in the button, it was really loud in the clickyness at first, but has toned down a bit already which is good.

Love the position of the fire button, right up on the top as close to the 510 connector as possible.

The little potentiometer/rocker thing is really nice, I like it a lot. It has kind of a spring loaded quality when you push it, it is not quite like anything I have seen before, and seems like it should last a long time, and feels good when adjusting.

Usb port feels nice and solid.

510 port seems 100% sealed, can't blow any air through the top.

Kinda wish I got the Red button, but all black is nice too.

I will be testing it's battery life through today.

At first I couldn't really figure out why they placed the screen where they did, but last night while vaping in bed in the semi dark, it dawned on me, generally you will be firing this with your thumb, and the way you hold it when firing that way, the screen is pretty much hidden from view to you, and to other people. If you fire it with your index finger, then the screen is facing you. Most of the time you don't need to see the screen, so it is actually nice to have it kinda hidden away by your hand 90% of the time, and for the 10% of the time you do wanna look at the screen, you fire with index finger and all is good. When in low lighting areas, that screen is pretty bright.

If you were vaping in the dark, and the screen was on the same side as the button, your whole face would light up aqua blue.

I have a couple mods I would like to do to my XPV, and maybe if ProtoVapor is listening they would think about doing this stuff for V2 or as an upgrade to the stock unit;

I would love to countersink all the screws, and looking at it, I am pretty sure I could do it myself with a drill press (which I have).

I would also love to see the Black XPV come with Black screws! I think I am gonna hunt around for some black or other color anodized screws for my XPV.

I think I am gonna swing by a car tint shop and ask for some small scraps, I would like to darken the DNA20 screen a little bit.

As a future mod, I think it would be sweet to have a custom top plate made at a machine shop, that has the 510 connector actually milled out of a solid piece of metal, instead of a standard 510 connector pressed into the top plate as it is now. That would allow total flush mounting, and could even possibly include an adjustable center pin, and would all around increase the durability I think.

Loving this thing, and excited that it seems like it will be quite easy to customize and mod out a little if that's your thing.

Looking forward to seeing those Pics as I'm sure that I have at minimum another week until I can sweat on it... lol.

The wire used seems to be very high quality flexible wire.

Comes apart easy peasy, I'm gonna leave one screw out and run to ACE, see if I can get the specs on it and see about getting some black ones.
