Here's a serious question....

Are caps and tank rings interchangeable between a Signature, P3 and 2.5?

Maybe this will be clear as mud, but does cover something I didn't see mentioned above.

When it comes to extension rings, extension caps and end caps --- the tube diameter and threading is the same on all ProVari's and P3's. So, they all fit and could be swapped around. However...

The P3 ended up performing better with a tougher spring and thus a P3 end cap was born to hold that big spring. Thus, there are 2 spring types available at ProVape as well as 2 different end caps.

The Classic (2015) comes with the big spring end cap -- but some prefer to use the small spring version when in 18350 mode. YMMV

All earlier versions -- the V1, V2, and V2.5 all use the smaller spring --- regardless of what the top looks like.

On the other question, just in case it wasn't fully clear --- if your mod has the flat top design --- those parts are interchangeable with other flat top designs, which are: All the Ti models, All the P3's, the 2015 Classic, the Radius AND any earlier Provi's that have been upgraded to the newer flat top design. HB posted some good pictures of these parts, above.

There is also a beauty ring for the 2.5 which makes the 2.5 and earlier models have a flat roughly 22mm look, as it covers the tapered top.

One thing to be mindful of with the end caps, It's OK to use the small spring caps from a V 2.5 and earlier device, on a classic or P3, even though you may get a lower IQ reading on the P3, I know some folks are using the Tatroe wide bases on later devices.
However,
DO NOT use the Classic/P3 end caps ( large spring ) on a V1- V2.5 slant top ProVari, or a V2.5 Ti ProVari!
The tension from the larger spring could break the glue beads holding the board in place and create a loose board requiring factory service to fix it.

Provape says the P3 is "compatible" with flat top batteries. Not sure if that means recommended or just able to accept it.
Just got my P3 a few days ago and popped in my AW IMR 490. It works fine but the spring is very tight. Is the P3 really meant for flat tops or is the spring tight because it is?
What are you P3 folks using?

You're fine and the spring should be tight. AW 18490 is a great battery for the P3. In fact, they're really all I use in my P3.

Same here - pretty much all 18490's in my p3's and 2.5. For sure.

1200 mAh. Enough for just over 24hrs for me.

Thanks all for your replies.
My main concern was the tightness, since the batt top presses up against the gold connector, and didn't want to put undo pressure on the electronics, if the button top was not the right one to use.

I think I have missed something. What is a signature?

Click on your username, upper right of screen.

Then halfway down the left side there will be a button that says signature.

Click on that.

Edit as you see fit.

Cheers, Jim

I think some people call the Classic, a Signature. Not sure when it started. I've just gone with the flow.:)

Hey all!!!

Would any of you highly skilled Internet-types be able (and willing) to create an index of the questions asked on this thread?
That way folks won't have to read through pages and pages of info to see if their questions have been asked!
I'd do it myself, as host of this info/edu thread, but sadly I only access ECF via TapaTalk...and that limits my interaction with the thread.
Thanks to whoever can pull this off!
