I hunted out an old email, here is Blake describing the durability of the various finishes.

"The Satin Silver, Polished, Iced or the new Polished/Satin hybrid are all the most durable finishes since there is no paint to wear or chip. The next most durable is the Gunmetal Grey, but the Cerakote finishes are nearly as durable though they will eventually wear through from contact with your hands."

And here are some pics soft white (pinkish tint to it which she preferred till it turned grey and peeled lol)

And the Gloss white, very shiny smooth finish.

Thank you for posting these pics.

First of all, the pics on ProVape's website does NOT do these things justice.

Second, I've been vaping this crap (Baked Apples) from Johnson Creek that is 80 VG @ 9 watts in a Kabuki. My throat was burning with every inhale but I figured it was crap juice (never have vaped this high of VG without distilled water) or the coil (2.1 ohm HH rebuild). No, the juice or wicking wasn't burning, just my throat. Although you have it in voltage mode, I saw the corresponding watts is 6.6 watts. So I said to myself, "Self, turn it down to 6.6 watts and see what happens." No burning throat! I have bumped it up to 7.2 watts (3.8 volts) and everything is just hunky dory.

This has probably been asked and answered but doing a search on, "BOOST" yielded no results to my question.

According to PBusardo's Radius review video, the BOOST function adds 5 watts of power for the allotted time but won't go over the max power limit.

I'll use a example to ask my question. When setting the P3 at 17 watts, does the BOOST provide 3 watts of boost? How does that work when approaching the max power limit?

Thanks.

I'm still looking for it but it was said that when you get close to max the boost still works but not at full. It will give you an error and cut power automatically. Similar to how iq affects normal power. Vape 360 or Kenny will have to chime in on this one though.

Thanks for replying. Ultimately, I guess it doesn't really matter but would be nice to know.

I think they killed Kenny!

Monster Kenny sailed off into the sunset a couple weeks ago. Don't know what he's doing now, but I did add him to FB friends list......

I am a device collector. As of late some of the earlier Provari models are coming on the used market at a fraction of the original cost. Many need repair or to be refinished. Does Provari offer such services and if so is there a cost table?

I had a couple of mine refinished at a local vape shop. But cerakote is a gun coating, too, so you might want to check local gun shops, too.

Which makes me wonder if Zen would do it. I came into a Provari 1 recently and would love to refurbish and restore it with a mix of old and new tech. My fear is how I can get the finish redone. I just have a hard time seeing shops doing one off work for high end finishes.

P.S. If some does know a place that will do metal tube finishes for 1 piece, please drop me a reply or PM please!

HBManOfTheCorpseDude is posting regularly in several threads, so there's no reason for him to stay away from the thread he started.

I've seen Zen discuss the matter earlier. Paraphrasing, he wrote that it wasn't a normally available option and I had the impression it wasn't likely to happen. As I remember, there is a fair amount of setup and material costs to do a single run.

He said that he wouldn't rule out throwing in a piece or two in a batch he was doing anyhow, but I think it's something he couldn't/wouldn't do on a regular basis. He might accept parts with no guarantee of any time frame whatsoever but it would seem to be a big pain to keep track of where they were stored, who they belonged to, and remembering to toss them in the batch.

I remember the time I told my body man I wasn't in a hurry and just to paint my car when he had time...

Hi Coldgin,

It will not boost 3W, so 15W would be the highest setting where you can still use boost. :)
