I will be finding out later this week what the minimum line size will be. Until then, let's not count our chickens until they hatch. At this point, I am going with the assumption that there will be no problem with the transferral of our design, (whatever one gets chosen) to the finished product. The end cap is really for the user of the product, not for everyone else. As for size and legibility, this is still readable
Provarinatibasemini_zps88ac0ddb.jpg
and would be even more so if the letter spacing was increased a bit. This is small enough to fit on the rim of the end cap, so I'm not all that concerned with text and logos on the bottom of the cap. My biggest worry is keeping the design simple, clear, and not overly busy.

I hope that it is possible to use that font on the end-cap..

At the same time, thinking ahead there might be limitations to the engraving on just how thin they can go, especially considering there are some pretty thin parts to that font.. I've said this all along now, and that perhaps it might be wise to have a 2nd choice back-up for font style...

Anyway, thanks for taking this on, PoM!

Guys, this is an opportunity for us to put our stamp on the ProVari. It is our opportunity to have a say in it's design. Yes, it's only an end cap, but it's more than we've ever been given before. This is ProVape's way of saying "we appreciate you guys, and all that you have done for our brand."

That blank space on the other side of the ProVari logo. I've always thought it would be nice to have something there. :)

Edit: As of Friday, I'll have the vector artwork for the standard Provarinati logo. CNC set up time: Reduced to zero. All ProVape would have to do is put in the proper sizing. But they can only engrave Satin finish end caps, extension caps, and tubes.

Careful PoM. Just having a vector file of the logo does not reduce the CNC programming time to zero. Depending on the quality of the vector data, it may only be minutes or it could be days. Translate that data into continuous rotary motion around the edge of the cap for example, and it could get even hairier. All depends and many different factors.

Not trying to rain on your parade buddy, just want to keep it realistic ;)

Blank space opposite the logo? Good for existing ProVarii..

And for a new one? Wipe away all the crop circles/teardrops, like they did with the Dragon, and you've got a ton of creative wiggle room to work with -- including a lot of the larger & more intricate designs we saw earlier in the thread...

I'm personally disappointed by the lack of quality in these graphics.

Allow me to blow your minds away by what must truly be the single best design by far, courtesy of my fat finger and my iPhone

I say, why vote when this is the clear winner.

Right - so quick - buy a standard size!!
Standard size/standard cap = ABOUT the same length as mini/extension.
:D

It just occurred to me that I only use my Provaris with extension caps.
While I would probably buy one of these custom end caps, it will rarely be on my minis

Nice. That looks fresh, Drummersky. Death/Life ambigram...Provarinati inspired?
avatar99522_30.gif

47 pages later......It was fresh when I took that but sadly, not inspired by Provarinati. My buddy who passed in the drunk-driving car accident with me had that tattoo and although I am horribly afraid of needles, it was a tribute. I didn't really know that the Provarinati thing was an ambigram until someone pointed it out a month ago.

I've been doing some pondering...

1) I still think the knobs are too busy
2) If we got rid of the circle it would make more space for text
3) The triangle we've been using is uneven. If we make it an equilateral triangle and thin the lines it will also make more space.

If we make the triangle slightly smaller the text can be bigger

Part of me is not convinced that fine details will turn out very well. It might be a good idea to have a simpler design as a back-up. This is just an example. I used this eye in my signature while Edd was working on the second sigil.

No matter which way we go with this type of design, it's going to be problematic. (This is from a photo of a ProVari end cap to make sure the hole was the correct size.)

PoM-PoM said we might be able to move the vent holes. Bobo has 3 holes that are slightly smaller than the one on the ProVari.

Maybe? If the ambigram was longer?

large_eye_endcap.jpg

Ponder, ponder, ponder...

I like the last one too. My biggest concern is that the actual ambigram is legible. I would take less busy and larger so you can see it than really small with all the items on the wish list.

I wonder how hard it would be to engrave a beauty ring?

So........for the possible extension cap, is that the shiny one or the dull silver they said they could do?

Sorry about your friend; the tribute is definitely awesome.

Nothing to stop them from offering an engraved extension cap.

I prefer the form factor on the mini.

I'd get both.
