8 teenagers in your house? That would push me to drink and smoke again!
You're a much stronger person than I am!

Their really good kids, just needed a role model that their parents would not be when it comes to smoking and alternative options

I would rather see them vaping as compared to let's say, shoplifting, vandalizing, etc.

They are all soo happy with their vape gear and love the clouds and nic...these people need nic not sure what it does but they say they smoked because it calmed them down..i have made all of their eliquids at 3mg and then taught them how to make their own

Please bring it on..tell me how research has assured you that your not trading one bad habit for another in the long term effect. I vape because i feel better, but i still have questions that research can't or won't answer long term wise. Is that so bad? is that not reasonable

DeAnna, I'm not sure if this in response to my post above it ... it is helpful to quote at least a little of the post you're responding to for clarity.

If this was in response to me, I've done a lot of vaping research over the past 5 years. I've seen scares come and mostly go, about things like silica wicks, vaping at over 15 watts then 25 watts then 50 watts, hexavalent chromium from anything that has chromium in it like nichrome Kanthal and stainless steel, diketones, food colorings, rayon wicks, and a bunch of of other things that don't come to mind right now. I learned a lot from reading about these issues and a lot of the time I made changes to how I vape because of what I learned.

I really don't need vaping to be completely safe long term though. I also eat BBQ'ed meat, drive a car, ride my bike, etc. I know all of these things have risk associated with them and I accept the risks. I've done the same with vaping and that works for me. Now all I can do is stay current with the vape scene and see what happens next. New research comes out regularly, sometimes it's good peer reviewed studies, sometimes it's garbage and sometimes it's someone like Mike doing good work in an informal way. It all adds to the pool of knowledge we have to work with and gets us more understanding of the vape process.

I love readings mikes post, he is good about staying on top of research. Fair minded and reasonable in his conclusions. LIke you, i don't need vaping to be 100% safe i know it's not. Just feel and know it's safer then smoking

lol...i just want the kids..teens...to be happy. They all have their own personality by vision i learned that speaks to them i learned, it wasn't about functionality but shinyistis..that seemed really important to them as they looked over mods. Different mods spoke differently to them

I don't know. I've seen medical evidence that would seem to indicate that switching from smoking to vaping improves your health. Mostly it looks like the body's natural ability to remove toxins or foreign substances kicks in and starts ejecting the junk. That doesn't mean that vaping is healthy. That doesn't mean that it's impossible for vaping to be doing harm that just hasn't been detected yet. But in one hand you have an apparently observable positive and in the other hand you have a hypothetical negative. I know that I only have so much time left, and I know that smoking reduces that time, and I know that smoking also reduces the quality of that time. So I vape.

If you don't want to vape - DON'T. If you think vaping is safer than smoking cigarettes - give it a try. All I know is that I don't have the heavy chest congestion that I did from smoking a PACK A DAY. My clothes don't stink; my car doesn't stink; my house doesn't stink. IT IS ONE'S CHOICE.

*MY* O2 sats are over 99%..... That makes me happy.

If you smoke - so be it. If you vape - so be it. Do your own research and do what YOU think is appropriate. The BEST answer is that the AIR WE BREATHE is 100% pure. We know THAT'S a farce. So, *MY* choice is to vape instead of smoke. Are there long-term ramifications? I can't tell you with 100% certainty. Are there long-term ramifications from SMOKING - YUP. I'm not willing to continue to take that chance.

still doesn't change my view...are we trading out one bad long term habit for another. Only time will tell

How do you know that? (if only time will tell)
If I'm trading habit for habit, I think I made an extraordinarily good choice!

It would be very helpful for those reading the thread if you'd quote the poster to whom you're responding. :)
