Now that I have read all 91 posts I'm confident I need to order at least two more provari's!


I started my vaping journey about two months ago after not smoking an analog for over two years now! I missed the habit but despise the smell and appearance of analogs. While driving down the road I want to smack every driver I see smoking. At first I purchased a few ego-c's and quickly realized they are a joke!! I next bought a dandy e-pipe from e-pipe mods which I quickly fell in love with! After a few weeks I got the "vape" itch once again so I did some research and determined the only answer was Provari. Boy was I right! This thing is awesome. My better half gave me loads of crap since I at this point was roughly $500 deep in my new found hobby! Surprise surprise, a few draws off of my provari and she now has to have on and shortly will be the owner of a pink v2.5.. Mines the silver one and I now must have the bronze colored one!!! Only sad part of this story is the neglect that my beautiful e-pipe now end ours being I can't put down my Provari!! Rest assured once I become a verified member she will find a new home so it can once again become an appreciated mod!


At this point I have only used a Protank on my provari and enjoy it most of the time. I would like to figure out an alternative tank to use though. I don't have much desire to build my own coils so I'd like something that can be easily maintained. I have done a lot of reading but I don't know what would be my best option. I don't want to take away from the sleek light savor look of my new found friend though.. Only time will tell and yes any advice would be very welcomed by this new vapor junky!!

Vaping a Provari with a Protank now, and I don't know of anything better if you don't want to build your own wick and coils. You could look into carto tanks, which can also be very nice but are more fiddly, slightly more involved with setting them up and refilling.

I've never really been a fan of clearos, but I have enjoyed T3s in limited use. I see the ProTank getting an awful lot of love around here, even amongst folks that are into rebuildables and such.

I'll have to pick up a couple.

Same experience here; never cared for the top-coiled clearomizers - too harsh of a vapor for me. Tried Vision and Kanger T3's with similar results.

With all the love for the ProTanks and to a lesser degree the Evods, I will eventually get around to trying a ProTank. I would have had one by now if I didn't have to use that fugly proprietary drip tip.

I went from cartos to nano clearos to T3s to Vivi Novas to RBAs/RDAs. So far, I think the RBA/RDA works out to be less maintenance than any of the others. Perhaps it seems that way to me because I haven't built a bad coil yet. I am still new at it and either lucky or a natural - so far I'm 3 for 3 on my builds. Oh, and I rebuilt a Vivi Nova coil while waiting for my first real RBA.

As Tommy said, the ProTanks are getting a lot of love. But so did the T3s. Then, IMHO, Kanger's quality control went to pot on them. It seemed that every batch of heads or T3s needed fiddling to get them working right.

I am keeping my eyes on the ProTanks, hoping they don't suffer the same problem down the road. If they maintain the quality, I'll definitely try them out. They do look good and they seem to fit the bill for you quite well.

I've never tried a carto tank, but it could be an alternative you might like.

Just remember the battery trick with the ProVari. When the protection kicks in for flat battery just take it out give it a kiss and throw it back in. If you away from a charger it will be a little God send.

I tried all sorts of clearomizers for about a month. In the end, they were not for me, as they did not deliver the flavor, which I was seeking. The only clearo, which I now use is a protank and that is becoming short lived.

I love using my cartotanks fitted with Ikenvape cartos, as my EDV. I am extremely fond of my RBAs and RDAs. Every individual has their own Vaping sweet spot, so to speak. Through diligent discovery, everyone can experience the perfect vape.

Same here. I love my carto tanks and tinkering with my RBAs. I'll try the ProTank....just because. I don't have too high of hopes and doubt its something I'd care for long term, but any things worth a try.

With regards to jthe poster that mentioned Kanger's QC on the T3s, it's spot on. Much like Bogegate, very inconsistent. Too inconsistent for me to bother with When they were good, they were pretty decent, but when they're bad.....

Just for a change up you could try tanks with cartomizers. I resisted using the tanks after burning a couple of cartomizers. Just a little too anxious to use them and they weren't fully saturated. Finally decided to give them a try and they're not bad at all. Couple or three tanks and a 5 pack of cartos gives you options for changing your "taste." I still love my ProTank but am experimenting with drippers, bottom-feeders, and genesis attys.

If you want to try a carto tank, there's a bunch of different directions to go. Personally, I primarily use a 6ml Artemis locking tank with an airflow controller (<$15 for both) and IkenVape Mega Fusion Punch 3.0 carto's ($1.75 each if you buy more than 11) on my ProVari's.

There are other tanks that look phenomenal and perform well, but its all mostly aesthetic. I like the locking tank as it prevents accidental separation.

A rebuilt ProTank using Ekowool 2.5 mm silica and 32 ga kanthal IS an excellent vape. 5/4 wrap of 32 ga = 1.8 ohms

I think I prefer it to my mech mod with an AGA+ with an SS #500 mesh wick wrapped 3/2 with .50 flat ribbon kanthal (0.9 ohms)

Once wicks are removed at @1/3 tank it floods out like a .......

I just broke out another atty and pulled just one flavor wick and had burnt taste so I'm waiting before taking additional draws. Problem with that is I hate the wait.

? Is... What is the solution, will Carto tank solve this. I need to figure this out before this bankrupts me!

There are a myriad of reasons for your issues....from draw strength to the thickness of your juice. What ki d of ratio are you using? Have you tried using a different head on the ProTank, or is it still the original one you've fiddled with? When you filled it, how long did you wait until you tried Vaping it and got a burned taste?

I have used multiple heads in different formats. I haven't waited very long before vaping though, my battery died and is charging now beings Coores light helped me forget to charge last night! I just need to find the happy spot where there is no burnt taste and no flooding when I hit 1/3 tank

my protank hasnt had any leaking issues so far, lastnight i was using it and got to pretty much an empty tank with no problems at all, it currently has a 1.8ohm evod head in it and its on my ego clone with the 3 click selectable voltage with the ego cone, no flavor wicks removed and most of the juices that have been used in it were 60/40 pg/vg or 50/50

Currently waiting for my provari in the mail.... too bad the mail doesnt run on monday or it'd be here lol.

What tends to cause leaking in any bottom feeder clearo when the tank starts running low (usually somewhere below 1/3 ish) is the air pressure above the liquid. The more room there is for air, the more pressure on the eliquid, which will force it into the coil and wicks, causing it to leak out the bottom.

This same principal applies to carto tanks as well, usually causing flooding of the carto's coil, and less frequently, leaking.

I don't use clearos much, but with my carto tanks, I usually top them off when they approach 1/3 tank to avoid the issue.
