I ended up getting a Precise Simplicity (mech mod) as a back-up.....no actually, it was a present to myself for my 3rd month off analogue anniversary :). Very sturdy, simple and Made in the USA too from a company that backs up its' products like Provari does. Then I HAD to get a Mini Reo (USA, great backing) because I wanted to add to my collection! It is an easy mod to start fooling around with rba's too. Very simple and forgiving. (I also like having different types of mods rather than duplicating). My Mini Provari still gets my love 80% of the time, but I get a kick out of the other 2 as well (nice to have 3 options of liquids at the same time).

I think I'm going with a Reo mini 2.1

Shinu77, I've really enjoyed by Mini Reo 2.1 when hanging out at home. It isn't really pocket friendly as my Mini Provari is always there! I got mone with the Reomizer RBA and found the video on the website helpful as well as the tutorial for re-wicking with cotton on the Reo thread. Enjoy!

The Mini is a great mod where height is paramount, with an 18490 and 3 ml juice bottle. For a bit more height, also consider the REO Grand. It's smaller than most imagine. Here's a picture of a 6 ml + 18650 REO Grand next to an 18350 Provari Mini.

My main PVs are a Provari and an Electric Angel mechanical. My #1 back up mod (Vamo) went over the side of the boat recently when I loaned it to the captain. I am used to having 3 mods/flavors on hand at all times and am looking into getting another mod. But . . . should I get another cheapo just in case of the above? Should I get another high end and NOT loan it out? Such a quandary.

I KNOW that I would enjoy another Provari. I am REALLY tempted by those Reo mods. But then, I'm also thinking about one of those L-Rider 14500 sticks - I already have several of those batteries for flashlights and it wouldn't be a huge loss on the boat. And it is lighter on a lanyard if a fishing reel starts screaming and I have to jump into action.

Then again, my vaperversary is coming up. Also looking into some nice epipes.

So, no help from me OP, just letting you know that you're not alone on this quest.
