• 11 clicks on the ProVari will take you to CB, batt check. With an atty/carto attached it will show batt charge underload, w/o the non-loaded batt charge. Typically .1 volt difference
• I didn't have to sign for either of my ProVari's

I need some clarification on chargers. But first, my Mini is arriving today around 1:30. Yes! I can't wait! This will be my first Provari.

I have an UltraFire rapid charger for 3.7 Lithium batteries. Is that okay? I don't yet have a Pila charger. I have several AW IMR 18350 batteries to use with my Mini. I've read here that the batts should come off the charger at 4.2V. How do I check that using the Mini? And just in general, is my charger okay or should I buy a Pila charger?

P.S. Do we have to sign for the package or will the postman just put it in the mailbox?

With an atty or carto attached: When you check batt level, it is checking the batt when a 'under load'. That is when 'something' is drawing current from the battery. How many volts are actually avaliable to power the 'attached something'.

Without an atty or carto attached: You are checking the unloaded voltage level of the battery.

It's normal for any battery whether it's a 12 volt car battery or a PV battery to read higher with 'no load' attached.

As to whether the UltraFire Rapid Charger will keep the batts from overcharging - You really should search this out in the battery forums. I'm not an expert and do not have an UltraFire charger. What I remember reading about them is that the older models continued with a trickle charge after the green light came on and could potentially overcharge a batt. Newer models supposedly turn off completely when the green light comes on.

I charge w/ a Pila which is supposed to be one of the better models out there, and I try to remove batteries relativley soon when the light says it's charge is complete. Regardless of using a higher end or cheaper model charger something can always go wrong w/ electronics - so I try to be safe. The Pila just makes me feel better about leaving a batt on way past its charge cycle of worse case overnight when I forget to unplug it.

XTAR chargers are VERY good chargers even in comparison with PILA they are either on par or some say better (according to a few reviews and youtube clips)

Not exactly on par with the Pila according to the comparison test on cpf but they are good chargers and great price

Can someone answer this question....Is it possible upgrade my satin Provari Mini to the NEW black satin mini? If so how much would it cost? Or do I just have to buy a new one?

no you cant upgrade . You would have to pay 179.99 to upgrade. lol. You could always have it powdercoated by someone

I have a v1 and got the mini the minete after it was available, so I didn't know that much about those batteries, so what I did was I bought 4 18350's, I have one in the mini and throw 3 back-ups or spares in the "bottle buddy" holder that's 5$ from MsTsBakery.com. And 4 is way more than enough for when I went out. Then I bought 3 18490's when I was home so I wouldn't be over using the same batteries over and over, and I'm set. Next is the satin black in green and I'm done. Chrome v1- red LED, a satin silver mini- blue LED, Nd my final will be the black Provari Mini-green LED. Going to. It it Friday, seriously hope they don't run out of stock!
